If you're having suicidal thoughts you should seek help from a psychiatrist. They can help you understand what's causing you to feel this way. Once you know what the problem is you can work on fixing it.

If you think your reason for being depressed is because of porn, then you already know what you have to do. Quit porn.

Rather than taking anti-depressants, which is what you don't want. You could say to your parents that you would rather try something else instead of the pills. Such as seeking professional help.

 

If you really don't want to take the pills, see if you can talk with your parents about doing some talk therapy instead. I know it is still a bit stigmatized, but even if a person isn't necessarily depressed, it can still be very helpful just to have a non-biased person to vent to. This way, you can help your parents feel better by showing them a "tangible" thing you are doing to help yourself if that's what they want. Plus if you are in the states and on your parents health insurance, you would need to discuss the options with that anyway. Be as open as you can with your parents. I know it is difficult and can be very uncomfortable, but if you are living with them, you need to work on a compromise with them. They just want to keep you safe.

 

You're a grown ass man, move out or just don't take them. Stop saying dumb things for attention. You brought that on yourself

 

Suicidal thoughts are no joke. One day you think you're okay, the other day you're thinking about your parents' reaction when they found your body.

Remember, suicide has serious side effects on your brain and manhood. There are no ladies or puzzles in the grave.

 

Maybe yoy can ask them if you can go on an alternative anti-depressant like St Johns Wort? You wanna be respectful because they at least care on some level.

 

You should take them for a while until you have shown you can take care of yourself without them. Go to the gym and have some goals that make you happy so you never feel suicidal or almost suicidal
St. John worts is just for people with depressed mood not those with actual clinical depression

 

^ The thing is, SSRIs and SNRIs are NOT effective treatment for suicidal thoughts. In fact many of them increase suicide rates in the people taking them, a major side effect associated with both of them is in fact.. you guessed it: suicidal thoughts.

My advice @RedPillRebooter is to try to talk to your parents about the possibility of therapy instead of anti-depressants. The way I see anti-depressants is like taking a pain-killer for a broken leg, they help relieve some of the symptoms of depression, but they don't treat it. You need to actually get the broken leg fixed. That's what therapy is for.

Whether or not you continue the SNRI is up to you, but if you do, then imo you want to get therapy to make the most of the time you're on it - since in the early days it'll actually be quite effective, but later on SNRIs and SSRIs tend to lose a lot of their effectiveness, and you'll have missed the window when therapy will be most effective.

If you don't want to continue it, then therapy is equally good because it provides an alternative. For one, it could be helpful with things like your PMO habit if you find an understanding therapist - but two, it'll also help get your parents off your back since they'll see you're doing something about the negative mindset you had. So they'll be more likely to be okay with you being off the medication.

Are you actually suicidal or did you just say some type of emo shit and now your parents are super worried? I ask because you didn't clarify in your OP. Either way I find it odd that the person who didn't bat an eye at the idea of taking opiates to "combat" his porn addiction is now, all of a sudden, concerned about anti-depressants.

Regardless, I'm in full support of you getting professional help. I think you need it given the history of your posts on this site. I'm talking a full psych evaluation coupled with inpatient rehabilitation.
