I always considered it an "old coaches" tale. Studies on Testosterone seem contradictory. There is ample evidence to support a one time spike in T at around day 7, but other than that not much. My theory, is that 7 day spike is evolutions way of encouraging procreation, tied to women's 28 day cycles. Day 14 for women is their most fertile.
