I just realized today, as I was surfing facebook...I looked through my high school friend's facebook, they have pictures of friends, having a good time, laughing, smiling, playing games, roadtrips, etc..together, I never had that kind of life when I was in high school, I was the quiet kid on the corner...addicted to porn. Had social anxiety, depression, withdrawal from family interactions... I just realized today, I just gotta stop this habit. tears fell from my eyes when I was looking through their pictures...because I wish I had that kind of life: full of happiness. I'm now 25 yrs. old...I just gotta stop this. This is my motivation. I want a normal life. Being depressed, suicidal, anxious is NOT normal. Porn is wreaking havoc to families....

Brother, welcome to the forums. I haven't been on hear very long. But, I can tell you from personal experience that you are not alone. But all and all it doesn't matter, we don't need compare ourselves to others. Be strong man. You can become better. You can be what you want to be in spite of what choices you have made in the past. You can even turn them around learn from them. What is your current and first goal with beating porn?

Thanks Brother, I'm glad to know that I'm not alone and together we can fight this addiction, as well as any other addiction. My current goal is to beat my depression, feel better, and have self confidence. I heard that nofap can do this...as well as changing my mental aspects. What about you?

I want to beat this addiction completely. I want to reach 30 days, then 60, then 90 then continue on until I completely get rid of it...it's not worth going through depression.

I think those are both perfect priorities to work on the depression and just work on short term 30 day goal. I haven't been here long. But I am sure the sense of community you will feel here will help you with the depression you are going through. I am planning on reaching 14 days. I have been attending a 12 step program meeting in my area too. I highly suggest looking for some sort of anonymous group you can join in your area and sharing a story.

Remember that facebook is just one gig lie, don't take it too seriously.

You not alone, there are thousands of people with similar problems or maybe even millions of people out there, I feel very lucky to have found this community, I didn't know porn had such a massive effect on me. I was depressed, anxious and lacked confidence, I had no idea that porn was causing all this.

I had no idea too bro, I though porn was normal because its sexuality...but now I know it's "abnormal" sexuality. It's without intimacy and real feeling..porn is fake. Porn is a leech. Porn destroys families, I just found out today that my uncle is a big porn watcher...no wonder he had problems with his family (divorce) etc...(I can't just generalize the cause, but that's what I think it is).

Hey man, I feel the same. Don't ever hold back. Fight this addiction. I found that journal writing is very helpful against anxiety...just a quick tip.

Great Tip. I am struggling right at this moment and I think writing would help.
