WHY I'M GLAD I RELAPSED

I never thought I'd say that (why I'm glad I relapsed). But it's the same spirit I refer to when people say things like: "learn from your mistakes" or "get up and try again even after you fail."

    My first proper nofap attempt
(before I even discovered nofap online) lasted 1.5 years. Prior to this, my endless attempts of abstinence lasted no longer than a month, max. I never felt the full benefits until 1.5 years of nofap. Although I challenged myself to reach one year, I never realised that I could actually do it. So when I achieved the one year mark, I carried on for a bit longer (because it got easier) but I didn't have specific goal thereafter. So 6 months later I decided to "treat myself." That was a mistake. I slipped right back into bad habits which I now realise are dormant within me. After becoming addicted to my old enemy again (which lasted fapping 10 months), I decided to quit again. This time it's with the help of nofap online. Now I'm determined to last even longer. Forever in fact.

At that time of my relapse, you wouldn't hear me say: "I'm glad I relapsed." But I can confidently say it now, because I've fairly experienced life without porn in comparison to life with porn. Life without porn (longterm) does live up to the hype. If I had stuck to my nofap determination the first time, then I never would've known what it feels like to fail after feeling so victorious.

Think of it like an underdog boxer, fighting their way to become a champion. After immense training and willpower, they eventually win a championship title. But then what? It's hard to get to the top, but even harder to stay at the top. So when the boxers declines from greatness and loses their title, they either stay a loser or fight again to become champ. Do you think those who experience victory twice, want to fail again? No. Because the fall from championship hurts harder than the rise from underdog.

Throughout my teens and twenties, I fapped. So it's like I never truly grew up. I never felt like a man. Then I finally grew into manhood for those 1.5 years. Hence relapsing felt like I reversed from manhood to boyhood. It's what made me realise why it's crucial to stick to my nofap manly ways.

Relapsing and learning from it is good thing, especially if you've experienced some of the benefits from nofap. Reaping those rewards once is what will help you reclaim them and persevere.

    Stay strong.

  4. Brother.....I am in an alltogether different galaxy. Very happy. And as I have so many failures in my past.....I won't give up so easily.....if at all.....and reading your 'inspirational post' and a 'few other posts', it will be a 'crime' if I relapse again.....ever.

I have kind of wasted the last 21 years....n am 37 now (not that I regret it....just saying for the info)...Thus, I have no 'leeway' for any kind of nonsense in my life anymore. I can't waste a single day. :)

But, I am really happy for you. Thanks again. Keep up the 'great work'....which I know you will...;)
