I recognize this to happen more and more. It’s strange I did not notice this before. But girls in public especially here in Germany and France dress so super sexy and so more naturally sexy. So it seems to be more normal and I see more that play with this then before. Let’s say 8 years ago. I wonder whether this has to do with pornification of society.

  2. Probably. Feminism isn't helping matters either.

Which is funny, because feminism used to kind of be about trying to change the fact that women are objectified as sexual beings, and now it seems they are celebrating their right to make themselves purely sexual beings.

So I won't try define feminism and its goals, partially because its a movement and not an organization. There's no standardization nor are any two feminists likely to agree on methods. But I will say that feminism is there so that way women have the choice to do what they want. Some really want to be house wives and mothers and that is okay. Some really revel in sexiness and male attention, and that's okay too. It's supposed to be about agency.

Uh, anyways, I guess sex has always been in style. You might not remember it because you were younger and the world was coming into focus, and now you notice it more than you did, say eight years ago. The point is, they are allowed to wear what they want, and you can notice because you have eyes and not care because you have agency also.

  4. Agree to disagree. I don't think that's a healthy way to live at all.

Forgive me, but I'm not sure I understand your position. What makes you think that's an unhealthy way to live?

I don't mind women trying to be sexy, but what is considered 'sexy' nowadays is mostly just vulgar.

  7. I think world is becoming overall more open minded to sexuality. And that is both good and bad thing. Good thing is that we do not shame people of normal and healthy sexuality that often anymore (with exception of some religious communities that are living in a bubble), we are getting more accepting to same sex relationships, etc. All that's good. But then there are this other side of a coin where porn is being normalized, sexual excess is being encouraged, young women are thought to objectify themselves, etc. So it's kind of a two sided coin.

I personally don't see there being anything wrong with women owning their sexuality, being proud of it and showing it off for some attention. It can be enjoyable and empowering. And also practical to get a date; women are not really expected to approach men, they have to peacock. We have a problem. But it's our problem to deal with. We can't point fingers at everybody who does not support us. Just as alcohol addict in recovery should not condemn people for drinking. Some people are healthy and it works for them.

You see a provocatively dressed woman? Ok. Is it wrong? Why? Cos it gives you urges? Your problem. Or cos you discovered that porn is unhealthy so now you blame porn for every sexual thing you do perceive as bad? Keep in mind that this nofap community is a bubble. I mean it is great, but it is not all there is. Not every sexual thing is always to blame on porn culture.

No, but if somebody would just provocatively drink a beer in front of you then he would also be to blame or at the very least would be a huge asshole.

  9. If they would know that you are recovering addict then yes, they would be an ahole. And if you would relapse cos of that then they would be partly to blame. But do these women know I am an addict? If yes, well, then it is completely fair comparison. But most people don't even know porn addiction is a thing. I'm sure most have heard of sex addiction tho but think it's extremely rare, which it is compared to alcohol, smoking or drugs.

And even if they would know I was an addict and would be genuinely concerned, what are they supposed to do? Not leave their house feeling sexy cos of my mental problems - some random guy on a street? Are people supposed to stop enjoying beer cos there might be alcohol addict somewhere in a bar peeking?

No, but most women dress like this in order to attract men. The dude drinking the beer without being provocative won't cause you harm because he's minding his own business. He's not doing it expressively to tease you. Thing is women are not the only ones to blame, let's be honest most people here had nothing against women dressing like that before they started NoFap. Looks really matter too much nowadays. Thing is, like I said above, this type of 'sexiness' has really regressed into vulgarity.

  11. 'Sex positive' feminists indeed seem to hold this belief, whilst 'Sex negative' feminists share your view on the troubling aspect of women objectifying themselves.

  12. I love how women who dress modestly are seen as sex negative, lol.

  13. It is not the best term, I agree. When reading about it I saw they used the term 'sex critical feminism' interchangeably.

  14. I had no problems with women dressing like that before nofap and I still have no problem with women dressing like that now. I don't believe women going out of their way is to flaunt their sexuality is healthy but it's on us men to control ourselves as opposed to running around like thirsty pathetic dogs. If you can't see a slutty looking woman and not go all crazy then you still have a problem. You should work on changing the way you think and stop projecting your sexual problems onto other people.

I have no idea who you're talking to. Also, it's funny that you think that women don't go all crazy over really attractive guys.

  16. One would assume he's talking to the OP no? Not to mention OP was talking about women… so why would he bring up men in his reply?

  18. Your guess is as good as mine mate, I honestly didn't see the quote until now.

  19. I was attempting to quote the OP so that comment wan't directed at you.

I really don't believe that any more than a tiny fraction of women dress with the intention of tempting men. Do you really think that as they look thru their wardrobes as they get dressed that they think to themselves,"Hmmm, what can I wear today that will make those horny little pigs all hot and bothered." And if they do it is likely because they have some emotional or mental disorder. I have 3 daughters who make it clear that there is not much they find more annoying than unwanted attention from men. And, no, they don't dress that way.

My opinion; this is yet another example of the universe sized difference in how men and women think, More than that, the apparent fact that, for the most part, neither gender seem to comprehend that the other doesn't think the same way they do. I once saw a presentation by a neuroscientist where he asserted that if you took CT scans of a typical male and female brain, then showed them to someone who didn't know any better, that this someone could reasonably conclude that they were the brains of different species. That is how deeply hardware different men's and women's minds are.

Consider the phenomenon of "dick pics". Men know they are strongly aroused by images of naked women. (Um, why are we all here again?) So Joe Dumbass sends a pic of his unit to some girl thinking it's going to do the same for her. "OMG! That pic of your penis got me so hot I want to make it with you right now!" Said no woman ever! My impression is that nearly all women are put off by it. Yet dumbasses keep sending them.

And ladies, there you are, resplendent in your yoga pants, leggings, that painted to your ass skirt. And then you notice men staring at you. "Oh! What pigs! What animals! How dare they! I feel so violated!" She is shocked, shocked, to find men looking at the body she is, intentionally or not, showing off. Who could imagine they would do such a thing?

That said, I think most would agree that there is a social, cultural imperative for women to be attractive. (I would also say it is an evolutionary imperative, but please, let's not go there.) For good, bad or otherwise, women are judged on their appearance to a massively greater degree than are men. Look at the amount of time and money spent on hair, nails, make-up, clothes and fashion, diet and fitness. For all the noise that gets made these days about how we should be accepting of different looks and sizes, any objective look at life says it isn't so.

On some level, women want to be thought of as attractive and desirable. So they groom themselves accordingly. And men will inevitably be attracted and desire. But I still think it is beyond unreasonable to suggest that women go about their day dressed with the deliberate intent to get men sexually aroused. Example: At the track where I run a lot of spandex fitness gear gets worn by the women there. As soon as they perceive someone behind them they immediately start tugging on their shirt to pull it down and cover their ass. Nothing about that says that they are trying to tempt men. They are there to work out. Not to see if they can make that old guy they just ran past pop a boner. So when women dress "hot" I think more that it is the disconnect, that they just don't get it. They don't comprehend the immense power visual stimulation is to men. (Again, what brought us here?) Because they don't directly experience it themselves. Sure, they know that looking sexy will get men to look at them. They just have no idea what that look is doing in those men's minds.
