    Good evening everyone I wanted to know if it's better to concentrate all my energy on NOFAP, or if I can go to the gym Is it better a goal or more goals?

    You don't need to "focus your energy" on nofap, you just need to stop masturbating by stopping thinking about masturbating.

    About gym ye go ahead ;)

  6. I found this thread and though I'd add my own insight.

    During my first streak (59 days), I did very little in the way of gym work. As I've said elsewhere, the only changes I undertook when I started NoFap were reducing my caloric intake and walking to/from work instead of taking taxis at odd hours. There was a point during my second month (let's say about Day 45) that I realised that I would have to go to the gym simply because I had too much energy. I found that my urges actually increased after going to the gym, and had a relapse (partial, but still a relapse) after a Personal Training session. I haven't had post-workout urges since 'that day', but have found myself going more frequently since then. I've found that more I focus on things other than NoFap, the easier it becomes. People will make all sorts of arguments against 'distracting' yourself, but sometimes it's what you may need. Everyone's journey is different, so if you find that crushing weights 5 days a week keeps you from slapping salami, then go with that.

    I admit now that I'll never look like a superhero, and even if I end up having a decent bod, will still be old and ugly.

    I find the gym can be difficult for me simply because my focus isn't always on the weights. It could just be a personal trigger, but I occasionally get some nonverbal attention from women at the gym. If you are inclined to get this attention due to whatever it may be, be very guarded of where your mind is and where it is headed and where you want it to be headed. I got lazy without realizing I needed to be guarded or focused and lost my streak.
     
  9. For me regularly doing HIIT workouts and classes in addition to adding yoga helped immensely. Especially yoga. Highly recommend having workouts in helping with NoFap.

  10. Personally I'd LIKE a little non-verbal female attention while I'm at the gym, as I'm old and ugly, not to mention still (technically) overweight.

    Maybe in a few months I'll just be old and ugly.

    for me the stress and fatigue that causes me the gym could bring me back to a relapse but I'm not sure

    In some ways it's a curse. I have found myself relying on it for my short-lived happiness and it never lasts forever. When you rely on external factors for "happiness" you will not find satisfaction in life guaranteed. If your good days are based on the events of the day, your bad days are too and you have no control over it. Its a poor mindset to be in.

    It probably stems from motherly rejection.. she was out drinking and I was being put in daycare for too long at a young age. So when I get the female attention, it probably really activates the ecstatic feeling I would have felt as a child if she had done the right thing.

    Ehy Guys i'm in a flatline ... I do not want to do anything, not even go to the gym, but at work I'm more productive...
    what do you think?

  16. I never really worried about flatlines during my previous streak. Granted, I wasn't going to the gym during it, and it was after a gym session that I had a partial relapse, but flatlines were great - just walking through the desert.

    I often PMOed in bed before falling asleep. Going to the gym 5x a week, riding my bike for 40min a day plus playing baseball kills all my energy and makes me fall asleep in a second, which destroys any possibility for PMO. I can only recomend working out :)

    Its good to exercise man, go to that gym. I too am about to join a gym (planet fitness) soon. I have depression and the anxiety I have makes it difficult to be around people. Good thing its open 24/7! Ill probably go in at around 12 midnight. I donthave a job because of a back injury. Long story short, the doc said I need to strengthen my back and abs to fix the herniated disk. I have been doing bodyweight exercises for 8 months straight and I think I hit a plateau. I need all the heavy weight machines the gym has. Im in love with exercising now! Good habit to replace PMO. Like another poster said they get increased urges. Well, thats your sex hormones and increased blood flow at play. Try it out if you feel it could lead to a relapse then dont do it. Or try working out at home.

    I've been too busy to go to the gym and I suffered from not going. Just went today and I crushed it for the first 30 minutes and it feels great. Even with a full schedule I needed it. I was feeling depressed, but not after that and a cold shower. I think I have a little more control now that I am very busy and have some short term goals.

  20. I'm old, short (168cm) and not particularly attractive, which was long motivation enough to keep me out of a gym. When I started NoFap I had intended to do so without going to gym, but the excess free time and spare energy kind of made it difficult to avoid. I wouldn't say it's been life-changing in the same way giving up whacking to porn has been, but I can't deny it has made a difference. I don't see changes in my body (a fat ectomorph, if you will), but trainers say they see things. *shrugs* I don't care for sunshine up my butt, but I do hope it's not just yanking my chain.

    Then I started doing crazy stuff like showing up at 0400 just to have the place mostly to myself and ensure the equipment I needed was available. No, I'm not a health nut, or a fitness freak, or whatever... I'm just a guy who gave up whacking off and finds the gym is not a bad habit to swap it for.
