PMO-Free Monthly Thread: Jumpstart June 2018

Discussion in 'Events & Challenges' started by Administrator Account, May 31, 2018.

  1. Hello and welcome to the official signup thread for PMO-Free June 2018!

The purpose of this thread is to provide Rebooters with a place to share their commitment to abstaining from particular sexual behaviors throughout the entire month. Although it is strongly recommended to make a public commitment, posting in this thread is not required for participation in a reboot.

New to reboot? Here are some suggestions:
    1. Learn about porn addiction, excessive masturbation, and abstaining from PMO (a process called "reboot" or "rebooting"). Our free Getting Started guide that is advertised everywhere is a great option.
    2. Decide if abstaining from PMO is something that you really want. If you don't buy into the process 100%, you'll probably not make it through the month. If you have decided that you would like to participate, proceed to step three.
    3. Sign up for this month by replying to this thread.
    4. Consider setting up a PMO-tracking day counter to monitor your progress.
    5. Create a Journal Thread and share your progress periodically, preferably on a daily basis. Not only does this help you stay accountable, it documents valuable anecdotal evidence that will ultimately help other people going through similar situations in the future.
    6. Ask questions and get support by posting on NoFap. Help others, too, if you are able to.
    7. Get an accountability partner.
Would you like to participate? If so, please reply to this thread with the following information.
    • Are you not going to allow yourself to masturbate? View porn? Orgasm whatsoever? Not allowing any outlet for sexual release is dubbed "hard mode". For a full list of parameters, see our Rebooting 101 page.
    • How long do you want this challenge to last? By default it is one month, but 90 days is recommended for rebooting. You can't know how long it will take to "rewire" your brain, it widely varies due to individual circumstances. Some people require a year or longer to regain sexual function.
    • What are your goals?
    • Why are you doing this?
Coming in after this month has already started?

Don't panic - it is not a problem. Users sign up for NoFap's rebooting events all months long. Just follow the instructions above and jump in at any time by replying to this thread.

May went well for me. In May I originally committed to no PMO, but I dropped down to PM as I was researching the karezza idea. Now I think I am ready to jump back up to PMO. I am looking for a deeper relationship with my wife and family. I am looking at the next 30 days in June.

I wanna join nofap for month of June!
Yes im not going to allow myself view porn masturbate and orgasm.
Ha want this challenge to last as long as i live.
My goal is to nofap as a lifestyle.
I am doing this because it is the best way to live. Also my goal is to save my semen for my future wife. I am doing this because nofap lifestyle makes life more meaningful. And semen retention is a thing of the greatest people. And i want to look at women and value them as something valuable not a thing for pleasure only. Then are human they have feelings they need to be respected.
God also require his servants to avoid sexual immorality. Porn has a lot of immoral. Looking at them influence us and destroys our perception. And i want to honor God.

Same here. And it was my first 31 days free of PM in a very very long time. I'm going to commit to June PMO and see how it goes. But to be honest I'll do anything not to go back to PM. Anyway it's a day at a time. And the 1st one is almost over.

As long as you're here and being honest I don't think you're failing. Each period adds up. Each good decision adds up to the previous. You don't switch 10 years of addition to hard mode in 10 days. It's process during which we need be patient with ourselves. Remember that we are not the problem. The world is. The amount of porn we have is a billion bigger than our brain is set to handle. But we can defeat the world by refusing to watch it's products a day at a time. So keep up friend. This is a solution. Slowly or quickly we'll get there.

I'm going to abstain from Porn and Masturbation for this month of June. I want to kick my porn and masturbation habit for good, but I'm just going to shoot for a month for now. Hopefully at the end of a successful month I can just keep going!

I'm doing this because porn and masturbation interferes with so many important areas of my life. It is a huge waste of time, eating away precious hours when I could be doing something productive (I'm a musician/composer, so I certainly could always be working on or playing music). It makes me feel ashamed of myself and thus less confident in connecting with others. And it especially interferes with my interactions with women. After I've been binging porn, I go out into the real world and notice that I am often not viewing women as people, but just visually consuming them, like I do in my browser window. I can certainly maintain normal, pleasant, polite interactions with women, but I have this problem of a knee-jerk instant objectification of them, and I know that this is influenced by porn.

I absolutely hate this, and that is why I'm committed to quitting porn and masturbation. I want to be fully effective in my work life, and able to deeply connect with people in my personal life.

    Here we go!

Friends, breaking porn addiction is a lifetime commitment. Sure, you can experiment for a month or two of abstention, but understand that the addiction will allow you to defer gratification for a few weeks rather than be permanently defeated.

I have completed the May 2018 NoFap challenge. I am proud to say that I am doing well and am on my way to complete the June 2018 NoFap challenge as well. I'd also like to thank the NoFap organization, my peers at NoFap and the friends that I have made thus far. I am grateful for each of them and their support for me throughout this time.
    • Are you not going to allow yourself to masturbate? View porn? Orgasm whatsoever? Not allowing any outlet for sexual release is dubbed "hard mode". For a full list of parameters, see our Rebooting 101 page.
I am going to go on a hard mode reboot. I choose not to masturbate, load porn, achieve an orgasm, and indulge in anything very stimulating including binge-eating, binge-watching, anime, manga, video games, and whatsoever.

    • How long do you want this challenge to last? By default it is one month, but 90 days is recommended for rebooting. You can't know how long it will take to "rewire" your brain, it widely varies due to individual circumstances. Some people require a year or longer to regain sexual function.
I want this challenge to last until the end of this June, but then continue on to the next month, and so on, until I achieve a full reboot whenever that may be. Since I have been exposed to PMO at a very young age, I presume I may need more than just 90 days to completely reboot. It could years just like they say.
    • What are your goals?
My goals are to turn my life upside down. I'm not just trying to live the life that I usually live just without PMO. I'm trying to live a life that's not my life up until now. I'm not mimicking anyone either, but I'm just trying to live in a new perspective because that's also a fun way to experience life without fooling myself or pretending to be someone else.
    • Why are you doing this?
Sometimes I think to myself, what would happen if I am still engaged with PMO actively in my twenties, in my thirties, in my forties, up until my death, which I wish at the very least I will be able to be completely satisfied before parting from the world. I want to live life to my absolute fullest potential that I have and I already have potential too, so it's only a matter of expanding the potential even more. If it's only 5% of my true potential, then I will strive to obtain 10% potential, then 15% potential until I get to 100% and beyond. To be honest, I wonder if I'd have an indicator of whether I reached my potential or not. But I wouldn't know unless I try. So I am doing this for this reason. Maybe not this very reason, but this is my main drive at the moment.

Hi guys I like the idea that we all share same concern, and we all agree on the hazards and negative conseq , with fap.
This is my first post here , I did not try to quit fap to be honest i did not do that intentionally maybe some weeks because of life busy or work load but I hope I ll quit this time not because work or life is busy but because I WANT that.
I have to admit fap is disease and addiction. Yes , I am addicted and sick of that cancer....Been now 17 days off this habit hope it last for months... My question to older member here, is there any videos or guides or books posted here in the forum beginner as I am can start with?

Thanks guys , Always I believe man is the strongest creature on Earth.. and confident that nothing stronger than us
