This sounds silly but couldn't be more serious...

Just have enough self control to not put your hand to your penis.

    Self. Control.

  6. As this guy says, self control.
There are a lot of ways you can practice self control, with a lot of things, not just NoFap.
I for one need more self control as I have severe eczema, which if I scratch, and lead to me tearing off parts of my skin and making it bleed in order to make the itching stop. I much be master over my own body in order to prevent this.
Are really useful tool to help you with your self control is meditation; or more precisely, focusing on your breath.
There are plenty of other people on here and on the internet who know a lot more about meditation than me, but my method and my advice to you is to focus on your breathing.

Just stop, for one second, close your eyes and breath in through your nose. Focus on that, the cool air flowing into you, and through you. Notice how good that feels? As long as you can feel that, you know you are alive, and that anything is possible.
I use this breathing technique to bring my thoughts away from the urges - be it the urge to scratch that itch, or to PMO. It is a constant and consistent point of focus that you carry around with you everywhere, that can distract you from anything.
So next time you get the urges, just close your eyes, take a few deep breaths in through your nose and just focus on that. Then open your eyes, and go outside for a walk or something, or do some pushups or whatever.
Your teenage years are quite something, don't waste them all on PMO like I did.

    Good luck dude

Stopping porn and masturbation is not different than stopping anything other addictive behavior like alcohol and smoking or sugar consumption.
    1) You need to make a conscious decision that your going to stop.
    2) You have to have reasons that you believe and care about. Whether it is improving your help, your relationship, curing PEID or the other countless benefits of nofap ... If your stopping for any reasons other than the ones that are important to you then it will be that much more difficult. Dig deep about what brought you to this site and what you want to achieve.
    3) You need to constantly remind yourself of why your stopping. A journal really helps.

I have a picture of my young boys and a picture of my ex-wife posted next to my computer monitor. It's not that I miss my ex-wife or want to get back with her (the sight of her disgusts me) but it helps me remember how my porn addiction had a big part in destroying my family and the miserable person it used to turn me into. I have a few posts about my divorce and porn usage story this already so I'll spare the details. Since my computer is the only way I can access porn this constant reminder right next to my monitor is a constant reminder and has prevented a few potential relapses.

Adding habbits will change the NoFap game for sure, I've written a huge post about some activities which helped me going 2 months without a single urge, the problem is...you rely on these activities, meaning once you stop doing them, your kind of unprepared once urges hit you.

Preventing urges, it all comes down to keep your awareness up, doing exercises will bring back you awareness, shifting your focus, causing urges to disappear, cold showers do the same.
Setting daylie goals will set your focus for the day before the day starts, if you keep following your "action plan" for the day, there won't be urges.
Super boring activities where you turn "brain dead" will kill your awareness, making it easy for urges to pass your door

think as if your both hands are fractured........let the temptation only be limited to your thoughts.......dont supress it......but dont touch yourself.........after qa while you will become more experienced

  11. First, I'd recommend using capital letters and apostrophes. @Steve Sancteria habit is spelt with one b, not two. @udit376 That is a different approach, thank you. Please stop abusing the ellipses, three dots is enough. Any more and puppies die.@TheCrazyThingIs and @EricKungFooled have some great advice, but in truth everything they have told you is something you could have found for yourself. Broadening the field of your mind is a part of quitting PMO. Asking for all the answers and what to do is something that takes away power from yourself to make that action and gives it to someone else.

Actually, on a second thought, this is really in the wrong section of the forum. Can a moderator please move it to the right area?
