I feel like a complete loser. I haven't had a real job in months. I'm a college graduate looking for restaurant jobs to support my music dreams. I applied to this one restaurant which said it looked good and didn't get a call back. This really sucks for some reason. I've been turned down by jobs before but this one depresses me. I guess I just got my hopes up. I just feel worthless and disappointed. Of course I want to go straight for the porn. But instead, I came here and posted.

Why? You did something. That's what winners do. It's just that you didn't do it enough. one restaurant? Apply them all:) Also try getting some other jobs as well.

Edit: I've also failed so many times I cannot count. But then again, you never know if you don't try.

  3. It’s good that you’re reaching out and trying to better yourself.

    Are you sure?
That sounds like what superstitious people say.
    7 days?

  8. If you are a loser/you are not a loser... only you can decide that... But you know that saying - you lose only when you keep your head down/don't get up after a setback! People were in your situations and got through worse - and now they are extremely successful in life. You can too :) so head up, keep going :)

    Sure.
But I was emphasizing on the '7 days' part. I mean 7 days is a magical number when you reach it you completely change?

If you believe you're a loser you ARE a loser. Getting a job aint easy but that's not the only thing you need to succeed. Find a hobby, hang out with your friends, workout and most importantly stay away from masturbation. Look at me for example, i've lost both girlfriend and my best buddy at the same time, i found a job at construction and on the 3rd day i stepped on the nail and got fired because i was unable to keep working. Remember, there are two parts of life: The dark and the light one. Keep working on yourself and the light part is going to come faster than you think ;)
    Good luck

It's not a complete 180 degree change from addicted to cured, but there is scientific proof to back it up. There was a study done https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12659241
that showed that every single participant experienced a significant spike in testosterone on the 7th day of abstinence from ejaculation (except one who had it on the 6th day) "On the 7th day of abstinence, however, a clear peak of serum testosterone appeared, reaching 145.7% of the baseline". This is what's commonly called the "surge" here on nofap, where you feel an incredible boost in energy, motivation, confidence, etc. . . Doing interviews or important things on day 7 if you're just starting a streak is INCREDIBLY helpful.

STOP. I know people probably told this to you a million times, but no matter how shitty the situation is, you have to remember that telling yourself this miserable lie only sinks you lower into the mud. Think this through. The fact that you're here, on NoFap instead of a P-site is a huge improvement.

I think that regardless of practicing in NoFap or not, you'll be struggling with your career at one point or another. If you are pursuing your music dreams (which, again, is already a huge improvement since most people do not even get close acting upon it) I suggest first finding a stable job that is healthy on both ends of the stick. Perhaps a family member, friend or colleague can redirect you to someone?

A common concept among writers is the "Hero's Cycle", a popular story module which presents the progression of a notable character (usually the protagonist. You are the protagonist. You are the hero of this adventure called 'life'.) through the plot. You are currently at the 'abyss', things are bleak and you are on the verge of giving up. But then comes the transformation. That's when things begin turning around. When you've been sticking around anyway, when you haven't given up yet. You never know when it's gonna come. Sometimes it's the day later, sometimes it's a year. But you must never, never give in.

This has to be my favorite part of your post. You've claimed that all hope is lost for you, that you are a loser, yet you prevailed. I don't know if you noticed this, but instead of failing again and PMO'ing you went on here and posted. You did not relapse. And this is, my friend, a victory. A small one, insignificant and even pathetic. But it is still a shining victory in the pile of stinky failures.

I hope you'll consider at least a fraction of the stuff I've poured in here. Have a good one.

I've been in and out of unemployment and my wife may kick me out of the house.
    Not a loser, still employed.
P.s by the way if you are the sperm that made it, you are no loser....

So I ended up getting a call back on Sunday and getting the job. I really don't know, looking back, why I was so torn apart. Maybe I was scared of going back to work. My parents have been helping me out a lot in the last couple months. I don't really know what it feels like to be fully independent and I think I'm scared. I appreciate all the help, guys.

I feel you man I'm in a same situation.
But there's nothing scary about becoming independent. You just gotta toughen it out..

Like He said, it's probably real scary if you're not used to moving forward rapidly in life. That being said, one of the best things to make you feel proud of yourself, to feel accomplished and IN CONTROL of your own life. Run towards it like no tomorrow. Good luck bro.

Your not even qualified to be calling yourself a loser. Try not having a job for 2 decades living on social assistance and haven't graduated out of high school.
