Hello, this something I struggle alot in my life and I did need some advice please.

How do you guys deal with stress? I have started a new job that is pretty stressful so far. I'm still under probation and I'm makeing dumb mistakes that is the result of stress and not thinking straight. I do want to successed and I believe I can but this is massive barrier for me. I do have OCD as well which doesn't help but have went to therapy and have learnt some good coping methods .

One of the my biggest problems I noticed so far is that I will fantasize to P when extremely stressed out which is not the way to go.

Any suggestions help. I have been mediating but looking into deep breathing exercises to now. Thanks

Get a better job, unless you think the stress is worth the money.

Books I have started reading, even comics too which is nice when I'm tired. Porn I'm stopping. No edging or anything like that. My life is better without it.

The thing is I really like the job. It's in my feild. I work in an IT firm and I want to succeed. The stress is sloving problems and taking tickets for clients in a reasonable amount of time. My issue right now is negative thoughts and I am putting myself in a runt

Maybe you're not the problem. These days, there's just too much information, and too many decisions to make, which leads to cognitive overload. Posted something similar [link].

Since you've mentioned books & comics... just finished the book Visual CBT on dealing with negative thoughts you might like.

About thinking straight & IT... finished the audiobooks The Organized Mind & Algorithms to Live By on different strategies and topics you might enjoy.

Yup that's what I used to do too man, I think many of us. We got to find a healthy alternative.
Meditation has been helping me and I have been going on bike rides to clear my head.

Youre right, used to use it as an excuse, just waiting for something stressful so then I had an excuse.

I think exercise is one of the most helpful for sure!

Do you use a meditation app?

Yup! I have used calm app which helped me greatly. Has a nice 7 day intro into meditation.

Headspace and pacifica are also good apps as well.

What I like too is that you can meditate on buses, trains etc.

You can also try breathing lessons on YouTube, that's also a good alternative too. Theres unlimited amount of videos online which some of them are pretty good.

  13. You're new man, you're going to make mistakes, that's normal with anything in life.

Exercise every day, 5 days a week

Meditate 5 minutes a day building 5 minutes a week to 20 minutes. 10 minutes morning and night is good.

Journal your stress. Talk to yourself like a good friend.

    No money is worth stress.

As someone who tends to think about work even in the evenings, at night and at the weekends, my best piece of advice is to somehow find ways to distract yourself (obviously not using porn etc.). It is amazing how much just going out, talking to a family member, going to see a film or taking a train somewhere can minimise problems. :)

It goes away with experience. Anything new is stressful and creates anxiety. I remember giving my first presentation on stage or attending interview or getting into new job. As your work becomes routine, your stress and mental resilience also gets adapted to the job.

In Power of Habit (or some book??), it is mentioned that brain activity levels are extremely high when a new task is done or when we do something new. As repetitions go by, the mental activity gets very less. Brain automates the task. Its like being new to driving a vehicle. Remember first time driving a vehicle?? How stressful it was and how anxious you were?? After some time, it becomes normal and just like any other activity.

Thanks man, this is so true. The last couple days had been much better. It's like something just clicked in my brain. The stress was unbearable before and I was making such stupid mistakes.
