  1. I'm not giving up from NoFap, just from this challenge. With my departure, Praksh will get teamed up with Bloss, so that's one problem solved. He is doing great, and I don't want him to end up like me because he has no teammate. These days, I've been coming to this threat only to report relapses, and I'm sick of it. Thanks for your encouragements all, but my decision is still to leave. Good luck! <3

I relapsed today.. But feeling good no depression state..I have belief in self that I will achieve great next time !

  3. Sorry everybody, another relapse for me. I really think this will be my last one for awhile though, my cold is finally fading and i'm ready for a streak.

  4. I've got some bad news to share, too. I woke up from yet another extremely graphic sex dream, and this time I ended up giving into the temptation. :/ its times like these that make me really annoyed with the counter system. Because I dont feel that all the hard work I've done for the past month deserves me having to reset my counter at zero. I am not starting back at zero. So idk what I'm going to do. I might just keep my counter and make it say something about achieving my goals or something. Because this is always a really crappy time for me, and it brings my motivation down and makes me frustrated to have my counter at zero after working so hard.

  5. Oh I am sorry guys for what you went through! It seems to be a tough day on everyone. You have done great work before so you can get up again. Don't give up :)

@Castielle You are right that is discouraging to reset the counter. But remind yourself that the progress is not about days counting. But about the average of relapses you have overall. So this is a 1/36 days which means you are still on your progress. If you want, there is another counter system else than day counter, that uses the method I mentioned. Each month it will give you how much days you are free, relapsed, and average of your relapces in that month. This helps not to make someone discouraged.

Here is a link for the counter, it is an excel file:

  6. You're right, you didn't erase all your progress unless you binge and go back to your old ways. I say ignore this bump in the road and go back at it full force. You did great, you're doing great, and you shouldn't let it get you down. :)

  7. Thank you. I've come up with my own system. I changed my counter to say "meeting my personal goals" and I will record any resets in my personal journal. Unless i completely "fall off the wagon" I'm not going to reset my whole counter for one mistake.

  8. I'm not, I'm just annoyed with the counter system. It doesnt make sense. I wish there was a better way, via this site, to record progress than acting like you're starting over at zero whenever you mess up.

  9. I'm sorry for your mishap Castielle, but you have made amazing progress. And I'm happy that you are not being too hard on yourself. You are definitely not starting on square one again. Don't let this bring you down! I agree that the counter isn't optimal. I don't really like the focus on counters and the phrase "relapse" either hinting that you start from the beginning every time. I use the same system as mr chips. I have an app on my phone called "Productivity" in which I register days free from porn, psubs and masturbation separately. Then each month I put the average score of the month in a bar chart and can then easily follow my progress over time.

  10. I'm back at home and I'm glad that I do not need to report any reset.

    Checking in...

  11. I thought a bit about the day counter thread. I share the opinions of @Castielle, @Mr.Chips and @Akermark that the day counter is too simple to show a real "progress" and that it's not encouraging if you loose the whole number because of one failure.
The positive thing about the day counter is the motivation it provides and that it is very easy to handle. Everybody using the day counter is in a kind of challenge, if anyone leaves then there's no problem, like we have as the number of participants here constantly decreases.

I think it would be a good idea to replace the day counter by a point counter like that: every day you keep to your goals you get one point, every time you fail you loose one, two or more points. Maybe additional points for special goals...
What do you think about that idea?

  12. Checking in! I've surpassed my previous record of 51 days! Now every day is truly a victory in of itself.

    Keep on keeping on!

    Good idea !

  17. That's a good idea! It is similar to what we mentioned, but if you mean using it here this means we will take a new challenge. If individually, I hope there is an app like that or an excel sheet can be a solution.
