    Greetings all

In this thread I will share my experience as a Brahmachari

    I started to masturbate when I was 15, I'm now 25 and it's been a while since I stopped.

My goal is: Strictly no sexual thoughts, No Porn, No sex, No Masturbation, avoiding people that speak about sex. My goal is to get rid of sexual desire (transcending sex) through proper Sadhana.

So far I don't get erection anymore, even in front of attractive women, even naked, so that's a good progress itself.

I have to say this, it's not difficult if you know what you are doing.

So far here are my positive effects:

    1) Eyesight has greatly improved, the eyes are the sea of the soul, those who have bright side have a bright soul.

    2) More energies

    3) feeling rejuvenaed

It's said that if you are impeccable for 12 years in a row you can achieve great things, let's see

Great going , but just to be informative , Medha nadi could be developed by nofap (monk mode ) only if u could finish a span of 12 under the age of 32 . Any way the benefits of be being bramhachary is priceless . Great results can be achieved by a form of yoga callled Kaya kalpa .Good luck.

What kind of things do you practice, or what books did you read to help you on this path?

I think that's just a rumor, can be achieved at any age. Kaya kalpa claims it can make you immortal, but I have great doubts, I only know one who became immortal and that's ramalinga swamigal, there are rumors about babaji, st germain, and another guy from buddhism that I forgot the name.

Bhakti alone can transcend sexual desire, it's the supreme doctrine.

I can't qutoe the books, this was passed from guru and from person to person

There is no such thing as immortality of the physical body. Common sense should tell you that. The real immortality is achieved by dying (mind) whilst alive, aka enlightenment.

Indeed, ramalinga swamigal turned his body into a light body, his body wasn't physical anymore.

Their immortality is more of an expression , what we generally get to see in websites or books are the interpretations of vedas by some guy , verbs and nouns in Sanskrit can be very contextual. Unless we master the language we cannot be sure of anything , but as far as I know about the immortality of kaya kalpa , it is life to the fullest 100-120.

No, ramalinga swamigal achieved the suddha deham, which is an immortal body of light and invincible, then eventually the gnana deham, he locked himself in a cell, authorities went there and never found his body, he reunited with God, he has written everything in his songs, research more about him.

Language is just older tamil, me and a tamil academic we are translating his work.

  9. I agree with that, but maybe slightly different wording, not really dying of the mind, but more seeing, realising what it is (not Self). Truth lies beyond mind, beyond lanuage. Only when this is experiential, not an idea or concept, is one really freed i believe. I have had short moments where i could see through this, but nothing permanent. I strive to get less attached to intellect, and live more from total Beingness so to speak.
I'm just at the small steps of the beginning, but i believe we can go the right direction a whole lot by Nofap, meditating, calming the mind to be less cought in it, but live in a way more beyong mind.
    Enjoy life everyone

Good luck with this @gagate! Probably one of the most difficult things is brahmacharya practice long term. So many sexual craving habits going back who knows how long. But I think it is well worth the effort. All the best!

I don't get them since a long time, but I have a particular doctrine, transcending sex is easy, there are far harder things

That's awesome! Do you mind me asking how long you've been practicing brahmacharya? I've had long streaks before, but lust in my life and experience has always had a way of being insidious, working it's way back into my mind and heart. But I also believe there are those fortunate ones who don't struggle with it as much, who seem to naturally incline to renunciation and meditation without much resistance. :)

You need to pray with strong devotion to god that it eradicates sexual lust from your mind. that's why I say bhakti is really needed

Love helps alot, if you love god and see god in every living being no sexual thought will annoy you.

I have a question. Are "morning glories" caused by mind or body in your opinion?

Mild Kundalini symptos these days, my mind gets brighter and sharper every more days, I feel pressure at the very top of my head and movements in my energy body, on the feet particularly. Broke all records at the gym in one day by alot, felt particularly energized, even with small eating and fasting. Not sure why people go back into porn, masturbation and sex when they experience these amazing results
