I think the study you are quoting is interesting, but I suspect that there is a flaw here. The flaw is the (I guess) self-identification. Many men will deny (to themselves) that they are gay even though they have sex with men. Society has taught them not to accept that label.

How can they be straight when they desire homosexual activity? Why would a straight man want to have sex with another man or a transgender person? I think this very act makes them not straight.

There is nothing wrong with being gay or bi, just accept that you are if you have those desires.
