    I wholeheartedly agree!

One of my biggest irritants is going onto some sort of social media platform and discovering explicit adult content. Sure I can block the platform but historically this takes me a few days. In the meantime, I am back in acting out...
This has happened with Tumblr. And it's happened elsewhere.

    So hooray from me!

  3. You’re exactly right. I don’t think any social media sites should allow porn unless that site is specifically meant for porn.

  4. Why would anyone look at porn in Starbucks anyway? I think most coffee shops and restaurants over here filter out porn. In MacDonalds they probably do, I know for a fact they block YouTube.

Tumblr gets adult content banned staring dec 17 and My porn addiction immediately gets about 90 percent better. Maybe I can get my shit together now with that major failure point eliminated. Tumblrs porn hole was my nemesis.

I read where apparently that site was having serious issues with cp and pretty much decided to just nuke it from orbit basically.

It seemed to rely heavily on the adult content users so they'll probably fall into obscurity now. Aside from that it was totally chock full of cultural Marxist nonsense and lame nerd shit. Good riddance.

I didn’t know Tumblr was full of porn until I read it on here a few weeks ago, and my ‘porn brain’ wanted to send me there. I resisted, but I guess it’s one less source of temptation, which isn’t a bad thing.

As for Starbucks, I would imagine most corporate WiFi is likely to be locked down to prevent illegal activity if nothing else.

Yes very bad stuff on tumblr. I was completely shocked when I randomly came across very illegal stuff on tumblr because some person I follow liked a pic. I reported it to tumblr and blocked the user. Not long after that Apple dropped the app from their platform because they were obviously facilitating illegal porn distribution. They are probably are under investigation and were advised by lawyers to ban explicit material.

  12. I blocked tumblr on my home network and I disabled the browser on my phone for about a year to keep free of it.
You just have to do whatever it takes.

  13. I've never used tumblr myself but it's a good thing that porn is being banned on it because it is a social network which young people use. In my opinion, anything defined as a 'social' network should be devoid of porn as porn is an antisocial thing in itself with many users viewing it in isolation. Porn should be filtered in all wifi hotspots too since there is no age restriction for the individual who can access a hot spot as far as i know.

I remember some time last year reading a story about people watching porn on the bus and it was titled something like 'is it OK to watch porn on the bus'? we are now in an age of free access to whatever people want and it used to be 20 or so years ago that only those with a bit of technical know how could access the net or those with disposable income.

It's become so easy to access that people are in a state of blissful ignorance..much like i used to be when i was using it i guess.

Yeah, tumblr seems to try really hard to be a cool fun and hip place for teen girls while they were also functioning as a "safe judgement free zone" for extreme kink and porn blogs, particularly (from what I have been told) ageplay fantasy and DDlg. Anyone who cannot see a problem there needs a serious reality check.

I am not say that the latter group can't have their own place somewhere, but they can migrate to an adults only place... A popular spot where kids and teens are encouraged to hang out isn't it.

  15. It makes sense for me. You need to feel that you don't want it, not treat it like a forbidden fruit. Nevertheless, when you're struggling with chaser effect or something it can be good idea to avoid even little chance of relapse.

  16. In the long run you are right, having a filter is only effective for the individual who is at a stage where they still have some motivation to access porn. When you have finally had enough and have conquered your inner demons then a filter is null and void as the individual wont make the choice in the first place.

I've said before that to an addict, sometimes putting a barrier in the way can act as a challenge and in overcoming that hurdle they actually gain a small 'misguided' sense of achievement. If you think about the long suffering alcoholic or even just people who have given up smoking, there are no filters for those people as the shops remain open and able to supply cigarettes or booze to anyone who wants to pay, yet the people who have successfully been able to manage their addiction can walk past these places, past the aisles full of alcohol and re-direct their thoughts and urges due to years of abstinence and focus.

I still have one filter for my internet browsing which is google safe search, it means it greaty reduces the chance of anything undesireable appearing in search results if i search for something even remotely linked to sexuality or porn, for example, research on porn addiction or psychology. The key really is the individual and their will power but that will power must be nurtured and trained with the right resources.

Tumblr only acted because Apple removed there app from the app store. Plus I heard there's a lot of really creepy shit going on there, so it safer to just nuke it

I think all social networks shall ban pornographic contents in their platforms. There are a lot of young users around the world, and they do not even know what expects them and they do not know how can it affects them. A lot of porn users rationalise in their minds like " This is just a gif from instagram, this is not porn." I quitted some social media networks like instagram because of theirs sexual explicit contents but I see nowadays they progressed about their algorithm, you can choose your interests and platforms provide this kind of contents. I found this successful and less irritant.

...and elsewhere! This is one of the big problems with these platforms hosting adult content. One goes there not expecting such stuff, then comes across some racy images and *click*. Those racy images offer some links to soft porn and *click*. That soft porn offers links to harder stuff and *click*. Then harder stuff leads to oblivion and *click*.

It's insidious and I applaud Tumblr, whatever their motivations might be...
