The most inspirational post I ever read

  1. Hi @Freeddom_Taker , I started my reboot on May 12 th , 2015. I was PMO free on my first streak for 3 years and 3 days, and I stupidly relapsed because I got complacent with the addiction.
This is a fight for life, after being 40 years heavily addicted to PMO, escorts and hook ups in promiscuous places.
I am now back in the race, 72 days clean right now.
Yes, I do not experience flat line any longer, and get urges some days, specially after not having sex with my wife for periods longer than 3 weeks. She is going through her menopause right now so she does not feel like having sex too often, which complicates my reboot

  2. Glad everything start working out again for you man especially after all the damages from pmo use. Even better getting back rapidly on the journey than keep failling.

  8. Hi @Freeddom_Taker . I started my reboot 3 years and a half ago. I managed to stay clean 3 years and 3 days, and had a stupid relapse because I was not doing well with my wife by then.
Fortunately I am back in this fight, ready to keep fighting every day.
Urges are not even 5% of what they were 3 years ago, although some times they still come strong.
This is a fight for life, we need always to be aware and alert
Meditation has helped me big time to stay aware, I am using Headspace which is a gReal App for meditation

  10. Did you feel your brain finish rebooting? Was the relapse or a binge wouldn't do any difference in your mental state?

Thanks a lot for the inspiring story. :)
I truly relate to all of the above facts. I, too, am a slave to PMO. Already for over a decade. It has been a terrible time. I tried to stop again & again but also failed again & again. It was as if I was in the darkest of abyss. I even considered commiting suicide as the solution, but like what has been said, I too did not have the guts to do it. I thought if I give up, what would be left of me. And so I carried on until I found this community of people like me who is trying hard to overcome this plague. Finally, I don't feel alone. Finally, I can have people I can turn to for help & inspiration. People who are going through, who succeeded, from whom I can learn & get motivation.
Thank you, everyone. Your determination inspires me.

  20. I am very happy this post has inspired you @glnb8 . I know how despondent and lost we can feel when we are on the dark side of the addiction . But remember, “there is a bright side on the other side of the barricade”, as the song of Les Miserables say.
It is not easy but yo can succeed.
For you and @Bob Kelso , who are starting with this New Year, here are some tips that may help you to start your reboot:

It is a big step if you can understand what is triggering your urges, because this will allow you to be awake and kill those urges as soon as they appear.

I recommend you to create your own "Emergency Toolbox" with readings that can be handy to read when you start feeling urges to screw up.
I can share this post with you with my own Emergency Toolbox, it helped me a lot during the first few months, i had them in my cell and read them every time I started falling down:

I wrote some tips in this post that perhaps will help you too:

You can watch some interesting videos which are also very helpful in this post:
    http://nofap.com/forum/index.php?th...t-help-me-a-lot-during-my-reboot.39774/page-2

I also suggest you to read "Breaking the Cycle" by George Collins, it is a must-read if you are serious about getting rid of this addiction.
To get more focus and feel happier with life I recommend you to start doing meditation.. I have been using an App called Headspace for the last two months which is great if you have never meditated before. The first 10 sessions are free if you want to give a try. I used to feel a bit depressed or feeling without energy to start new projects in my life, and meditation has helped me a lot with this.

Last but not least, I would strongly recommend you to take the NoFap Academy course if you can afford it. The course is great but the best value are the weekly video calls with @alexander (the creator of NoFap and NoFap Academy) and Mark Queppet, where you can chat with them in real life and listen to other guys's stories and problems too.

I hope that all this helps you to fight this shitty addiction.
    Let's keep on fighting
