I hear you man. The last two I have had were just some weird ass dreams. That's what I'm struggling with. I normally don't feel guilty but because of the content which caused them I'm taking up issue

I've had so many wet dreams in the past 230+ I don't even feel shame or guilt. They just annoy me. I had one this morning. Woke up, fell back to sleep, bam! And I actually dreamed I was M'ing, which makes me think I WAS...

Indeed, you shouldn't feel guilt or shame at wet dreams, as there's nothing wrong with these - it's natural male biology taking its course. It tends to bother one sometimes because of the vivid images that cross one's mental screen. Yet if one does not act out by deliberate PMO or MO, then no damage is done. Actually, there's another way to think of it. Consider the serious drug addict who has poisoned his system on drugs for years and now wants to become sober. Such recovery might initially involve serious tremors and vomiting even, as one's body is trying to heal itself, vomiting out years of poison. Consider that the same might occur for a person who has poisoned one's mind with pornography over the years or deliberate, repeated acting out inappropriately. In recovery, there may arise an increased expulsion of images from the mind - from deep within the unconscious, upward, and vomited outward, albeit crossing our visual screen. Rather than feel disturbed or guilty or shamed, one might consider that real healing is actually taking place as the brain detoxes itself and the male biology balances and regulates itself at last without human, destructive interference.

Wet dreams will definitely drain your essence.

    Some tips to prevent them.

Sleep on your side with your legs overlapping each other
Avoid stimulating/warming foods in the evenings (such as red meat, smoked meats, spicy foods, mustard, vinegar, dairy, etc...)
Take shisandra berries if you can (pour boiling water on them into a tea, and you can eat them afterwards if you like, they are very potent at astringing the qi energy and preventing leakage)
    Of course avoid sexual thoughts/stimulation
Practise qigong excercises, a good mainstream qigong master is Chunyi Lin of "Spring Forest Qigong" and he has some free videos/excercises on YouTube

They might not be as harmful, but they are still depleting your vital essence/vitality and are definitely harmful and unneseccary. The body will re-absorb old semen after around 60 days, so there is no need to expell it via wet dreams.

Having wet dreams is your body being used to a certain routine/habit and is trying to achieve it with, or without your concious consent, the longer your abstain from it the easier those sort of symtoms should subside.

Yep, it's because of a few reasons, A. Increased hormones/testosterone from large muscles such as the legs/back working hard, and B. Increased accumilation of energy (qi) in the lower body, doing some rapid shaking/wobbling of your whole body/limbs should help disperse any locked energy in those channels, although meditating on your pineal gland whilst doing a standing or laying meditation would help more if you are able to focus on that energy sensation.

No, wet dreams are natural male biology - they are not harmful, but healthy to the body which keeps itself balanced. This "vital energy/essence" thing is overly hyped and even carried on toward a bad concept of health.

  8. Some people keep saying this, but where does this information come from? I've never seen any research that backs this up.

It feels like pseudo-science gobbledegook to me. I've certainly never had any "drained essence" (whatever that means; I assume that it means lowered energy) from wet dreams.

So what about the "natural male biology" of semen being reabsorbed by the body after 60 or so days? What is the function of wasting this vital material via wet dreams, when the body is capable of reabsorbing it and returning it to it's base constituents (on a purely material science level)?

Personal experience of millions of persons over the course of history. There is no research to show that aluminium exposure through cosmetic products or cigarrettes can cause alzheimers, but it is plain and clear to anyone with an ounce of common sense.

Don't expect paid and bought out scientists to reveal to you the every truth of reality, especially when it comes to something of such importance as the physical, mental, spiritual, and creative vitallity of human-kind, especially in this day and age of depopulation agendas at every turn.

EDIT: Your essence is what makes you a human-being and a man, instead of an animal. It is your energy, your vigiour, your quick witted-ness and sharpness of mind, your creativity, your spirit and connection to divinity, your ability to act in the correct manner at the correct time, without thought or apprehension, the ability to resist urges from lower animalistic thoughts and lusts, your will-power. That is what your essence is, and losing it whether intentionally or not, is still losing it. Keep hold of that substance which has the power and energy to bring an entire new life into existence, because you will regret it in your later years if not.

  11. Thank you for the clarification, @ASABOVESOBELOW . I guess that I'm one of the exceptions, then. And I'm already into my later years :)

Some people are born with stronger constitutions than others (due to pre-natal qi influences such as the health of their parents at conception and the mother during pregnancy, karmic influences, time and date of birth etc..., then post-natal influences of diet, environmental influences, lifestyle etc...) some are sickly from youth and must guard their essence more preciously than others, but time is the enemy for many, and whilst your wallet may have been big metaphorically to begin with, if you keep on spending, you will eventually be as poor as someone who started out with far less.

Try to avoid wet dreams if you can, you will feel even better in the long-run, and be able to start building "wealth" (figuratively speaking) rather than watching your spending.

Diet, and sleeping position have a great influence on wet dreams, try to sleep on your sides with your legs-crossed if you can ("Slaying the White Dragon" in Taoist/Buddhist practises) and avoid stimulating/warming foods in the evenings, for instance spicy foods, mustard, vinegar, juniper berries (gin is a problem for me, although I love it and can easily drink a 70cl bottle in a sitting), smoked/cured meats, red meat, eggs, dairy etc....

    EDIT: I just saw your prior comment stating;
"I haven't had a wet dream since I was a young teenager; and I haven't had one during my reboot so far. I might have one again. I might never again have one. It's unimportant."

In which case I am not surprised you claim you haven't felt any loss of energy from wet dreams, if you haven't had one in years, and not since you were a young teenager! You were teeming with essence and vitality at that point, a wet dream at that age is like a penny you've dropped on the floor and not bothered to pick up, to do so in your 40's is like dropping £50/$50 on the floor and not picking it up. Our connection to the source seems to dissipate around the age of 13-14 years old, coincidentally the same age that the pineal gland undergoes calcification, which in my mind represents the primary source between the physical and the metaphysical, (for instance large doses of the most psychoactive compound known to man DMT are released both at death, and during the 49th day of gestation in the womb, "coincidentally" the same day that the sex is determined in the featus and "coincidentally" the same day that the ancient Tibetans give for the entering of the soul into the body).

But, the body chooses "many" avenues of releasing or getting rid of unused sperm or semen (wet dreams prove my point here, not yours - not by absorption alone), and a wet dream is one of those natural avenues, along with absorption. Your stating "...when the body is capable of reabsorbing it" ("all of it" being the assumption) is somewhat of a nonsensical argument, since the body itself chooses not to reabsorb all of it. Sperm that remain in the testicles, vesicles, and epididymis have a chance to reabsorb, whereas sperm that advances to the vas deferens or ampulla (storage area) cannot go backward to the epididymis where absorption occurs, This is the source of natural nocturnal emissions, or there can likewise be release admixed during normal urination. The male body is designed to take care of itself and balance itself, so long as we don't irrationally and addictively interfere on a constant basis, throwing the body and the brain out of balance.

Do you honestly believe that having multiple sucessive wet dreams within a few days, or a week is natural and necessary? The reason these people are having wet dreams is because they have conditioned their body into a habitual/routine release of sperm and dopamine, and subconciously their bodies are performing these tasks to maintain that "order" with, or without their concious permission.

I've certainly never expelled sperm during urination, so that cannot be the natural "end" of this vital substance that has the power to create and bring life into this world. Expelling sperm during urination is clearly a by-product of sexual stimulation, preparing the sperm for their intended purpose and journey, only for that not to occur, but they are already "cocked and loaded" if you will, so there is only one direction for them to go from that point due to the valve-like nature of that channel.

Better would be to not stimulate the facilitation of sperm into this channel if you do not intend to procreate with a woman, and instead allow that essence to remain intact and to be channelled into higher functions of the intellect, spirit, and physical construct of the body.

If you want to waste this precious fluid that I cannot dissuade you, but if you want to achieve the true potential that every single human-being has been put on this planet to attain and progress in, you should prevent it's leakage, and not trivialise it's importance in the progression of your own character and spirit, and ultimately destiny.

I won't argue with the body or question its ability to heal. If there is some excessive wet dreams or emissions at the start, perhaps it is because the body is out of balance, and the body is working toward equilibrium. So an abused and addicted brain and body might seem abnormal at first, even as it is working to overcome the abuse and injury, whereupon it is reaching its own balance. Wet dreams are not a personal choice after all (what do you mean "if I want to waste it?" - such a silly statement - it's involuntary; it's the body's choice and function when and if needed. They usually taper off.

I also think there is much overhype and misconception of "semen/sperm retention" being the be-all and end-all path to intellect, spirit, physical construct - it's quite absurd. To some degree, maybe it helps alongside the more real powerful contributing factors underlying intellect, spirit, body (I suppose a woman cannot harness any enlightenment in such areas if semen retention is the almighty source). I know you'll disagree, so I'll choose not to pursue it anymore.

Also, by the urination tract, this is not to say you would experience an orgasm simultaneous to urination, if you think you have to be "conscious" of such an experience. Not! Rather, there is seeping and overflows of semen or dead cells, little by little, into the urethra, washed out by urination, and one is not generally aware of it. It would be similar to achieving a little precum, then relaxing, and then followed by urination. It's one example where one might be aware at times of a mixed event happening.

Women lose their essence more via menstruation, child-birth/pregnancy, and stress, whereas for men the primary cause is ejaculation.

Wet dreams are not entirely involuntary. Firstly your diet and lifestyle highly affects their occurence (especially habitual ejaculation in the past, and sexual stimulation of any sorts during the day), and secondly it is 100% possible to prevent them practically at the moment of occurence if you are able to use self-control whilst dreaming, or wake up just prior to it happening.

If you think retention is absurd and a overhyped misconception, what exactly is it that you are doing on this forum? All great spiritualists and monks know this practise is essential to spiritual development, and many of the greatest minds of known history have been practicioners of it, some being celibate their entire lives (Nikola Tesla, Sir Isaac Newton, Pythagoras, Plato etc...)

What I mean by saying if you want to waste it, is that you can either make excuses for it and continue to lose your essence and vitality, or you can face the fact that this is a detrimental and unnecessary "habit" that is occuring, and that it takes willpower and real life-style changes to stop it for the betterment of your life; physically, mentally, and spiritually.

I'm skipping a whole bunch of posts in this thread, but I was thinking lately that I have a hard time sometimes knowing if I've had one. I tend to sweat a bit when I sleep, so if my sheets are wet, I'm not sure if I had a wet dream or not. On occasion I've had one, and it was clear I did, but sometimes I wonder if it happened or not.

  19. Don't worry about it. It's a natural process and doesn't mean you've "reset" anything.

You've certainly lost energy amongst having a wet dream (ejaculation is ejaculation). As a teenager the loss of vitality/energy is negligible, but later in life more concerning/determental. To be able to nip the problem in the bud at as young an age as possible would be a great advantage, and set a man at a steady advantage amongst the rest of society and his peers.
