Panic Attack

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Mar 30, 2019.

  1. So im trying and trying and trying again after many relapses but I notice that I have panic attacks very often, is this normal during a reboot? and is it meant to happen pretty much everyday? and how do I deal with it.

  2. No. You should see a doctor.

  3. Yes It's normal. How to deal: Therapy, exercises, meditation or mindfulness. What's happen: I don't know. Maybe a self defense mechanisms against to the relapse process or maybe our body is too addicted to dopamine and is trying to get its daily dosis.

  4. Just my thoughts. I don't think you will be able to find your solution here. You will only be able to get advice, encouragement and suggestions at most. Panic attacks are unpredictable, but I think it is probably triggered within yourself by some external stimulus i.e. social situations, awkwardness, public speaking, presentations, the list goes on. One thing you have to acknowledge is that you cannot run away from having to interact with people. I don't know what you are going through in your life, but I don't think this is because of your reboot. I believe you know what is the fundamental problem in your life. If not, you have to figure out for yourself. Whether it is family problems, relationship issues, financial, lack of identity etc.

I think you have taken a small step to share your problem here. Identifying a problem is the first step towards solving it. It is definitely not easy, but with small concrete steps, you will cope well even though you will fall down along the way. I still struggle with anxiety on certain days, but I think it is self-imposed. If I have the chance to speak in front of people, I will step out of my comfort zone and talk. Regardless of how uncomfortable I may feel. People judge, its normal. The important thing is that we don't bother with what other people think of us. Unless it's constructive criticism or guidance from your loved ones.

Keep trying, note down how you feel in a journal, talk to people in your life. And I believe you will feel better.

    All the best.

  5. Can you describe your panic attack to me?, what causes them?.

  6. I mean It goes away in a couple of seconds. What causes the panic attack is fear. I fear that I will be a sick twisted porn induced pervert for the rest of my life, I fear that I will constantly crave weird porn and that one day I will end up like one of those gross disgusting people who live in a basement and faps to hentai all day (example)

  7. I just feel so drained after so many relapses, I have so much shame and disgust for myself because of all the disgusting porn I used to watch...… -_- im gonna keep going no matter what!

  8. I really do not think that is a good idea tbh.

There are some great YouTube videos on dealing with panic attacks. Just search "panic attack recovery" and take a look. They are much more common than you imagine and also easy to deal with if you know the right techniques.
