Thank you! Edging is indeed a big problem, and it's very good that I've identified the triggers, I agree. It feels like half of the battle is won, and that all I have to do is iron out my sleep pattern in order to see some progress with this. And, excellent tips; however, I should clarify that my phone is not an issue. I haven't looked at P once on it since I got it late autumn last year. It's more my hyperactive imagination that's the problem, and it always strikes when I'm lazing around in bed, and I'm too sleepy/mentally weak to resist because I fell asleep too late the night before.

I'll start by developing a better relationship with sleep (early to bed, early to wake), and once that's done I'll definitely be able to jump in the shower as soon as I awake. Might as well make a clean break tomorrow, since it'll be Monday.

I have a question for you guys. Do you guys have a healthy releases?

After a long period of time, do you try to bring back masterbation with out porn?

  3. I'm am doing better overall. A lot of symptoms died down, except mild social anxiety and anhedonia 24/7. Luckily my sleep is a lot better. But this damned anhedonia/zombie mode is killing me. I procrastinate everything. Hang in there guys it will be better.

Good to hear you are doing better!
    How is your sleep pattern?

    @Wario32
No, I do not plan to bring back masturbation or whatsoever when I am done rebooting. In my eyes, rebooting never really ends. I feel that if we can't let go of the idea of masturbation, there are still things that create empty feelings inside that we can work on to make life a happier experience

  5. Mate forget those eastern voodoo things, they can harm some people and produce same feelings you got now. Btw i felt same as you now around your days, i started to get better after 8 months hardmode, but still got bad days for sure. These are withdrawals, we can not avoid them fully. If we let they will make us crazy.

  7. I understand you trying to find escape from mental torment, and help yourself with those techniques. I was in same boat, I got you. They have good propaganda, just like other things in history.

Had same problem. Moved my dorm fridge/freezer right next to my bed. A bag of frozen peas on my junk accomplished what multiple alarm clocks and rubber band snaps could not.

I simply stopped fantasying during the day and then, without even realizing it at the beginning, I also inadvertently stopped fantasying in the morning.

Sometimes when I go in bed I think about women, but it's in a none sexual way (no surprise given I feel castrated!).

But yeah, simply stopping daytime fantasying seems to have worked for me. (or it maybe something else, but it seems unlikely)

I'm one of those that believe in the saying "Once an addict, always an addict."
I went to AA and NA for addictions I had to hard drugs (3 years clean and sober now). I believe what I learned there and in rehabilitation classes set my foundation to succeed in maintaining my PMO free streak for so long.
You can never cure these addictions (well not that I know off). You only have control over them. Imagine it like riding a bike for the first time. Once you try it, it feels great. Lets say you grow up and do not ride a bike for years and you ride the bike again and boom. You remember how awesome it felt and start up riding again. Thats what its like with addictions.
There is no cure because you can easily fall into the addiction again.
I dont know about PIED because I have never masturbated currently or had sex yet. I have been doing kegels and reverse kegels for over a year now.
About the lingering mental symptoms, like I said before I love women (as a straight man) and its in my genes to want to "get it on" when I see a woman I like sometimes. For me that will never change. What has changed is I have way more control in the moment and I dont go home and masturbate, fantasizing about that particular woman like I used to. I have not masturbated in over two years.
This addiction was way harder for me to overcome than my other drug addictions. I can recall now it felt like someone was pointing a gun to my head and forcing me to PMO. It was one of the hardest things I had to go through in my 25 years of life. Its possible guys. Apply yourself. Like Winston Churchill said, "If youre going through hell, keep going."

That is the absolute fucking truth bro
I haven't even been dreaming that much over the past 2 years (still flatlining, 2 and a half years later, quit porn november first of 2016 and been rebooting ever since)

Now, I have been interested in that idea for awhile. I have not been able to dream either in the longest time as well. Do you think that is a symptom of the essence leaving our body you think ... I have not a dream every once in awhile.

I think it's the brain balacing itself out

  14. According to the web, lack of dream recall, especially over longer periods of time, indicates decreased white matter density in the brain's prefrontal cortex...

In other words, at some point an addict no longer remembers his dreams because of underactive frontal lobes. The hypofrontality theory must therefore be 100% correct. Fapping for years on end will eventually shut off the evolved part of the brain and activate the brain's primitive core, the addict basically becomes an animal and their dreams will be taken away from them, literally and metaphorically.

WoW! Scared and saddened a lot by that. Does it say the brain can recover the white matter after quitting addiction ..

Interested in the stories you brought up about PIED symptoms and the stories you know of. You have a link to those stories as well... I think I will have a long time to recover from that as well but not sure of my timeline. Wanted to see what other people did while waiting so long.

The time of 1.5 years is a long time but honestly thinking about what we have done to ourselves and our brain over time it is not hard to believe it need that time to heal and return to normal.
