    Hi everybody!

My name is Martin and I'm 27 years old. I grew up in the small town of Zwijndrecht, South Holland the Netherlands. I now live in Dordrecht, a small city close to my hometown. I work as a manager for a tech consultancy company. In my spare time, I love to go rock climbing, exercising and going to dance events. I have a girlfriend for three months now whom I'm quite fond of.

I started masturbating to porn when I was 11. Since then this negative habit has grown stronger and stronger. Needing more and more stimulation porn to get "the high." During my side job as a dating coach, I started realizing that I had a problem and how it was influencing my love life. I wanted to change this behavior but then found that that was going to be harder than I thought. I reached 26 days, relapsed hard, got back up again, relapsed, etc. etc. It has destroyed a previous relationship of mine but I don't want it to get my current relationship as well. She is super sweet, beautiful and willing so there is absolutely no reason for me to masturbate to pornography. But I just can't stop.. I probably don't have to mention the impact of my behavior on our relationship. I confessed my addiction to her Saturday (it is now Monday) and made an appoint with an addiction psychologist. But there is a long waiting list of three months. So until my actual therapy starts I want to give NoFap a new try and hopefully stay clean. Thanks for listing.

    With kind regards,

    Martin

If you haven't already done so, please read the "Getting Started Guide" available on this site's home page. It includes a lot of information that you will find helpful as you start your journey of healing. Also have a look at the "Glossary" on the top of this page for definitions of abbreviations and terms that may be new to you.

One day at a time is how we all succeed.

Hi Always be Positive! That is some pretty solid advice but also kinda hard to implement all at onces. I'm going to stick to the philosophy of 'one thing at a time.' I'm am going to start with meditation to support my quest but I'll stick to warm showers for now ;)

It takes willpower to implement more habits at once, its best to implement habits 1 by 1, when that 1 habit stop taking your willpower and it becomes routine then implement another habit, for me my habits are just not taking my willpower but i am enjoying them, especially cold showers and meditation ^_^
