    Do pornblockers breed complacency?
Are they useful for overcoming addiction in the long run?
    Are they good early on?

I feel like porn blockers will help me get my thoughts off relapsing and reduce my fear of relapsing. however maybe it will hinder me growing back my willpower. There's difference between being able to but deciding not to and not being able to.

  3. Initially if they work for you then go for it. Long term you need to address it in your mind that porn is not an option and to recover from all this means no porn at all.

Do you think it would be wise to use them initially. let's say the first 30-90 and the drop them off?

    Did you use them?

  5. I have never used blockers. Too easy to simply uninstall if I felt like it. I have used accountability software for five years, and I will not own a device without it installed. There are still little loopholes, but it slows me down long enough to make me think, "What am I doing?" when I get in a weak moment.

I swear by it and plan to use it in one form or another the rest of my life. After being an addict for 25 years, I do not trust myself around the Internet, and I never will again.

Completely the wrong approach. You need to train your mind and develop self discipline and resilience. Jettison K-9 etc. ;)

Much easier without blockers imo. They're like training wheels, until you find the self discipline to find it unnecessary

  9. They're the only thing that kept me going in the begining. I enabled Screen Time on my IPhone and let my partner set up a password, which has been a tremendous help as it pulled me out of a severely damaging rut.

My partner has his phone normal so I could theoretically look stuff up on his when he's not around, but that would be wrong and a huge breach of trust. So I was in a constant battle of "should I?" to "I could never forgive myself if I did that", eventually my brain got tired and gave up on trying to convince me to look up porn.

I still have it enabled and I will probably disable it in the future, but for now it's working out and I have no desire to do anything, I just like being cautious.

  10. Accountability software on mine with reports sent to a 3rd party that gives the all clear or nogo to my wife each week.

Wirks well for me I just concentrate on what i am doung and very careful using google.

A more safe place at home isn't a bad thing. Also, why not protect the whole home if there's other people living there. That, mostly from unintentional stuff. Not exactly as prevention for all evil things -- which is more of a personal responsibility zone. Crutch or no, it makes good sense.
