How to Stay Clean ( This will Change everything!)

Day 0- Day 3: There are a lot of factors to consider. How long, how frequent, how intense? All of these contribute to the variety of feelings you experience. Some fapstronauts have severe withdrawal while others experience no craving at all. Going strong on these days has little to no bearing on how your overall streak will go, however it is a crucial step for recovering physiologically. You must establish a strong routine now that sets the tone for the streak to come; it could look like (but is not limited to) no laptops on the bed, only cold showers, no skipping the gym, eating healthy, chatting up attractive women when you see them, etc...

Day 4 - Day 7: Majority of streaks fail within this window, but also the manifestation of low-tier superpowers. Increased clarity, more confidence, people start to notice you a little more, life seems a little bit more positive. For pretty much any addiction, withdrawal will become hardest to deal with during the 1 week hump because your willpower and dedication to quitting will be thoroughly tested. It feels like every girl's tits are bigger, every advertisement has a pornstar on it and you will be able to come up with any excuse why PMO is okay. I personally failed here over and over again, and it was only after making it past day 7 that I could consider that streak good. This is when the cracks begin to show; YOU MUST realize ALL of the things are triggering you, adding sexual tension to your day and generally getting in your way of long term success. Obvious ones are checking out every girl that passes by and looking at NSFN (NOT SAFE FOR NOFAP) material, but there are subtle ones like touching yourself even when you aren't paying attention ( especially at night or in a private sitting area), constantly thinking about nofap and "slippery slope" thinking that tricks you into quitting your streak. I truly believe that those who have a clear objective in mind ( "I want my ED to go away", " I want to get better with women", " I want to think clearer and improve grades/work performance", etc..) will be at a far greater advantage than those just dabbling in nofap.

Day 8 - Day 30: Although I have the utmost respect and love for all of you, it really does take a commendable amount of willpower to reach this point. During this period, the healing happens much more slowly than during day 0-3, but over the long term the progress made is incomparable. Everybody is different, but almost every fapstronauts super powers will greatly manifest during this time - GPA's go up or work performance becomes more efficient, sex becomes more frequent or more likely if you are less experienced, creativity and positivity are at an all time high - but you also must endure the flatlines of low libido, low confidence, depression, etc... These highs and lows are caused by your brain making fundamental changes related to how you see the world and you derive pleasure. PMO is highly rewarding for your brain, and by taking that away, you have caused a great disturbance to your reward circuitry. As a result, you MUST be constantly participating in activities that bring pleasure, meaning and direction to your life. People lose their streaks here not necessarily because of insatiable cravings but rather because mild to moderate cravings overpower the ambiguity of what you actually need or want out of life. Pay close attention to your thoughts; superpowers are coming and going, positive and negative thoughts pop in and out of existence and because of that both revelations and mind-tricks are bound to appear. Sift through the traps and find the truths about who are and what you need.

Day 31- Day 90: I generalize these later periods so much because there really isn't much change in these large windows. A craving that appears at day 31 could easily appear in equal intensity and duration at day 90. This is what the fapstronaut lives for; superpowers start to steady out and you will consistently be a powerful version of yourself. This might sound perfect, but it actually poses a problem for the fapstronaut; because things aren't changing all that much, many people tend to feel like nofap is no longer doing anything for them and they aren't getting superpowers anymore. This can easily lead to PMO not because of the mild and very occasional moderate craving but because the fapstronaut believes he has rebooted and can "resume life as normal". Why not? I mean, porn-induced ED is gone, you are less socially awkward, you aren't jerking off to chicks with dicks and maybe you got everything you wanted out of nofap. This is the lonely and painful crossroad of the nofap journey, do you stay in the face of the total unknown and keep on with your streak, or do you go back to the person you were before and potentially slowly (or quickly) sink back to the old version of who you were? I can't answer that for you, but before you make that decision, consider one last thing. My advice is to push through this period of ambiguity by setting up clear short term and long term goals on how you can continue to improve your life. Enhance the resolution of the person you want to be and start to crush all the insecurities and doubts you have about yourself until they are no longer the ones in control of your life.

Day 90 - Day 360: By definition, you are no longer addicted. Your brain and body have almost entirely adapted to your new life, with the exception that the neural pathways of PMO will always technically be there, but you can keep those connections so tenuous and weak that they have no bearing on your life. Who are you now? What are your dreams? What are you worth? What do you need to be happy? These are questions you have now surely tackled on your journey and you actually see how to work on answering them. You will outgrow this community and move on to live the life you were meant to live. If you want multiple sexual partners, you can have them. If you want one really solid relationship, you can have that too. You can have anything you put your mind to if its in the bounds of reality; start a business, explore the world, write a book. You might drift away from old friends who are now toxic for you and find new friends who deeply enrich your life. You won't see anymore superpowers here because you realize that the superpowers you had earlier were merely returned property by the PMO thief that stole them. PMO here means nothing other than being morally responsible to update your badge, if you even give a shit at this point. You would need to binge on PMO to even be remotely close to where you started off. No tips on how to survive this one because you don't need my tips at this point.

The final day of your life: This is it. Your last day on earth. Maybe you forgot the word nofap, maybe it will always hold an extremely important place in your heart like it has for me. One thing is certain! at some point, you made the most important decision a person can make in their life which is to turn their back on what addictions and mediocrity have to offer. Maybe back when you were young and full of life, you found your home at the 80th story of your bachelor apartment, or maybe you found your home deep in the woods in some area of the world that hasn't even been discovered yet. However, when you look back you see a man who forged his own path and lived life on his own terms. This man comes once every hundred thousand years or so, when the sun doth shine and the moon doth glow and grass doth grow. Unlike your soon-to-be comrades sleeping below the ground, you won't die with a mountain of regrets and your dreams un-actualized. You will die a free and blessed man, grateful for the gift of life and having given so much back to the world. You mattered, you amounted to something, you were a living and breathing contributor to the human race and the universe as a whole. It was a pleasure not jerking off with you!

    Best regards,

    Dustin

For me the most important thing is not the act of not MO but detoxifying from P.
