Hi, I am Vicky, age 25. This is my first post. I have been masturbating since I was 13 years of age and have been "enjoying the sensation" fairly regularly. I have masturbated almost every day of the past dozen years, sometimes more than once(max 3).
I am not addicted to porn as such. I do watch it but stopping abruptly wouldn't affect me. I have always relied on my very fertile imagination.

Recently, I have been gaining weight and am going bald(not hereditary). All this made me think. Google came to rescue and I realized that excess masturbation might be the possible reason. I decided to let's try the noFap and see if this works.

However, I am still confused. Should I just stop cold turkey? Or progress gradually. Like from once a week to once in two weeks.

Can somebody guide me? Any additional information is welcome.! :)

This I consider as often and regular but not exzessive.

If you don't want to gain weight: don't take too many calories and burn much more calories by exercises. Yesterday I made a 120 km - trip with my road bicycle and burnt some 2.000 extra-calories. I can eat ice-cream and cake as much as I want and I will not gain weight. Also the frequency of my M-sessions wouln't affect my weight.

So I actually do not understand why you want to reduce fapping. You don't like it? Almost 100 % of men do it worldwide. What makes the NO PMO - journey so interesting to you? It will not be easy at all.

To be honest I like it and also enjoy it. That I am virgin makes the activity more so enjoyable. However, I think I also suffer from the syndrome of excessive daydreaming, called Maladaptive daydreaming.

When I am not fapping 75% of the time I am daydreaming. There are multiple stories (almost realistic) running in my head. All could have been true with ifs and buts. It is unlike schizophrenia where a person cannot differentiate between reality and fantasy. I know that all the stuff I am dreaming with my eyes open is not true, but continue to do it as it feels better than reality. A sort of escape mechanism.

I stay at my parents home and have all day to my disposal. I have and am wasting a lot of time daydreaming and then fapping. So I want to start the No-PMO journey. I know it will be difficult that's why ain't sure, how to go about it. Should I reduce it gradually or go cold turkey.
