I have much respect for you!! going through all this mess and keeping battling this big battle. I feel like many people underestimate it. Fortunately I can not speak about experience of opioid withdrawal, I am so sorry you have to go through all this buddy.
From what I've read, the science confirms your experience, so much so that it actually resembles PMO withdrawal (especially EDGING!). Because opioids bind to receptors of the endorphin-system, and so does edging and orgasm. We all now know about the dopamine rebalancing, but often forget about our endogenous opioid-system (endogenous morphins; endorphins). And this system has like 100's of vital roles to play in our body and CNS. The more we know, the more bizarre it looks what we've done to ourselves.

This is exactly what I have experienced since starting nofap. I am a severe case also. Currently 5 months hard mode

The throbbing/pressure sensations get worse when I think of sex or when I get anxious

Has anyone else noticed this correlation?

How long did this pressure take to go for people?

  3. I have had it on and off since rebooting this time round. Funny, I cant remember ever getting them years before. I had them quite bad for 11 months then they settled down a bit at 15 months but I still get a minor amount of them at nearing 22 months and I mean minor mostly my head is totally clear nowadays.

  4. Yep... And it's the dopamine related stuff getting back to baseline. I have gotten multiple "ecstasy feelings" from the head tingling sensation nowadays which is a good sign.

  5. Yea definitely. I'm having really good days now and can almost feel as if my brain is switching back on.

Did you see a correlation between this throbbing/sensations and other withdrawl symptoms? i.e. when the throbbing/sensations go can we expect anxiety etc to go also?

Big L, just curious, but when you used to fap, did you ever binge, like have multiple ejaculations consecutively? My last few relapses have been binges and it seems as if I have been succumbing ever more so to the dopamine rush. Im also starting to get pretty foggy in the brain, evidence that this thing is true.

  8. All symptoms have gone down gradually at the same rate, like they're weaker if that makes sense.

I was a chronic binger. This is why I beleive my recovery took so long mate. Binging was my forte so to speak, even when I had no libido and wouldnt even respond to porn and barely could get a chub I would still binge. I think binging is where we do the damage as I was never an edger who spent hours and hours on porn yet my recovery is going well into two years from how it seems.

When I relapsed I also binged but only for a few days or a week. I only relapsed 5-6 times from my first nofap attempt during a 3 month window, now Im currently on a 5 month streak. Started nofap 8 months ago.

Seems strange 3 months of relapsing at beginning could cause so much withdrawls, considering most guys relapse for a year or two before they get on a long streak, and then they still dont seem to suffer this much

  10. Do you know if you have a PWM (Pulse width modulation) enabled monitor? They can also cause these issues. Many of the LED monitors are PWM enabled, but thankfully some manufacturers have started to make PWM-free monitors in the recent years. I'd advise to go for a flicker free monitor as advertised by BenQ, they're PWM-free monitors. The same goes for TV's and laptops, you have to check them on Google to be sure if they're PWM-free.

  11. I was worried about this since a while and I was planning to see a Doctor tomorrow, and then I found this thread!
I have been complaining about a continues headaches all day since a week from now, including muscle pain. I have not crossed a month, but I have a long period of addiction (15+) years and since last two streaks I have crossed double digits couple of times (13,18) days, yes it is very short but I have not crossed 10 days since 3 years.I am curious to know if it is a part of withdrawals ? not to mention that in the longest streak I achieved my health struggled a lot.

  12. I can relate to these symptoms, it is like pressure head and tension head ache, but to me it is mostly similar tension headache. I never knew this would be a symptom of PMO, actually I studied the symptoms of PMO but didn't care much about the withdrawals.

  13. Yea mine started out as if I had a wave of tension in my head like imagine a wave hitting the sand that's how I would describe it in my head. Then I had pressure everywhere behind the eyes and all sorts, mostly if I do get something now it's a minor tension headache. You know I never used to suffer with these as an active porn user tho and really like I said before I cannot ever remember getting them beforehand even though I still had severe withdrawal symptoms.

  14. A week of pmo(first timer) will cause withdrawals though...

My first few attempts at Nofap I didn't get any 'withdrawls' - just strong urges to fap. It was like almost when my brain figured I was giving it up (maybe around 4th/5th attempt within 2 months) that's when it got dark real quick. In fact if it wasn't for such crazy withdrawls I might have kept relapsing. As soon as I seen how bad withdrawl was for me - I wasn't prepared to drag it out, or go through this more than once in this life time.

  16. It seems 3 years it'd take for a severe addict to complete a full reboot. As you can see by the first year that the withdrawals are out of control. Some people can't even do nothing most of the time including work.

  17. You won't get withdrawals when you just quit. It's when your brain start starving for that dopamine you will have them. Dopamine you get from pmoing is incomparable to the one you get from working, work out, having sex, or listen to music... So the brain has to recompensate to return to its previous form.

  18. Yea I believe that will be the case with me. I dont know how I worked previous years. Although it has been on and off. Literally you cannot function its fucked up.

  19. Isn't it crazy? The moment I decided to quit I thought everything would get better, that life would be smooth sailing after that decision. Two weeks later I found myself lying on a hospital stretcher convinced that was it.

I never had social anxiety in my life until I went through withdrawl of nofap - I now fully appreciate what people go through. I can see how prolonged relapse could really mess you up.

Im hoping I will be healed in 12-18 months. Currently at 5 months, and day to day I feel much better. Still get social anxiety in pressure situations, lethargy, sometimes random depression and barely sleep - but compared to the first 90 days, theres not much in life that can rock me now.
