I've been dating my girlfriend for the past eight months now. Love her! We were friends for two years before that. I told her about my porn addiction and shes been very supportive of me quitting and nonjudgmental, even when I relapse. I started NoFap yesterday and someone told me I'm not doing it right because I have a girlfriend. I'm not letting her get me to O at the moment because I'm trying to do this the right way. But if it comes between NoFap and my girl, I'm dropping the NoFap. Can I really not do this correctly while being in a relationship or was I told wrong?

Dude, if you have a girlfriend and you're able to get an erection with her, forget about abstaining from O and just have sex with your girlfriend.

Thanks bro, thats what I was thinking. Just so surprised when a guy was like, "If you have a girlfriend you aren't doing NoFap correctly, a real man would leave her first!"

The second I'm getting a girlfriend, I'm doing the same.

  10. Your counter says you are only abstaining from P, so that would not have anything to do with being in a relationship. If you decide on a full reboot at some point, then the O would have to go. I have never done so myself, btw. Maybe that slowed my progress, but it did not completely derail it.

True, ever since my start though I haven't O'd yet. I just don't want to cut it all out because I'm mainly focusing on porn, I'd rather M, then M and watch P if that makes sense. Eventually I will focus on cutting out M as well once I feel I'm able to control my P addiction.

  12. This was exactly how I did it, so I know that method works. I wish you the best!

Im in a similar situation mate.
People find this website for different reasons. Some are religious and some are seriously hardcore. Just ignore all that. Really, you are here to be a better version of yourself. That is all.
My girlfriend wants me off porn, some of the disgusting stuff I was doing online was almost like pseudo-cheating.

    Some tips.
    1. When your getting started try and do No PMO as it will get you resetting quicker. Once you come out the other side of flatline its prob ok to allow O with your girlfriend.

    2. Dont "have sex" with her. Instead "make Love". There is a difference. While you are healing try and be intimate with her without expressing your love through your genitals. Think of stuff like massages, making out, foot rubs, playing with her hair ect ect. Have her understand that if she wants more you are happy to give her an O without using your genitals. But women also just really enjoy intimacy and there are ways of doing that without your penis.

    3. Explain to her what you are doing and let her into your head. If she understands why you don't want O for a while and the associated benefits of that she will be more likely to make adjustments to help you out.

  14. If you are seeking for a good sexual relationship with her, you should quit porn & masturbation as soon as possible in order to balance your sexual life with her. Masturbation can lead many sexual difficulties when it comes to the real sexual interactions. Trust me, NoFap will help you to have a good sexual relationship with her.

I am in the same situation as you.

So I have decided to quit PM but have an occasional O with my gf.

I have tried to not O with her also but I succeeded once and failed once.

I have all the physical symptoms of physical exhaustion as well so I am trying to occupy her more with normal relationship stuff like walls movies dinners etc without getting into sexual activities as much to keep the O on the low as much as possible. To me as long as I can keep away from PM I should be able to recover eventually. Well that's at least what I'm thinking.

Like someone said earlier everyone here is on the individual journey and only you can decide what works best for you.

    Good luck brother!

If you can have healthy sex I can't see why in the world would you not have it. Also, you can not watch porn and not masturbate and have a girlfriend. I don't really see the conflict in that.

That's just fanatical, it kinds of even negates the purpose of NoFap.

Totally agreed. It sounds like something a keyboard jockey without a girlfriend would say.

    I struggled as well.
For my what helped was just saying ok, well my penis is 100% not an option so what else can I do. After being on no PMO for a while most guys start to absolutely adore their partners which is what happened to me and at that point i found it a lot easier to just appreciate the intimacy with her without using my genitals.

Yes i plan on having sex still, but i think its not the only option. Its also good to not have a 100% association with love and reproductive organs.
