Porn is basically anything artificial that causes you to be sexually aroused.

For instance if you think about searching a porn video and feel sexually excited before searching it, and then when you find the porn video you feel sexually excited, and maybe this causes you to keep searching more porn videos, because remember it's the searching that causes the brain to release more dopamine.

But say you think about searching for a non pornographic image of a female you know, and you feel sexually excited before searching it, and then when you find the image you feel sexually excited, and maybe this causes you to keep searching for more images, because remember it's the searching that causes the brain to release more dopamine.

How are any of these behaviours any different? One is considered porn content and the other is considered a non pornographic image. But if you're sexually excited and aroused by searching and looking at either of them then they're doing the exact same thing in the brain, if you keep searching more of either of them for sexual arousal then it's doing the exact same thing in the brain.

The porn content might overall raise more dopamine and cause a higher level of sexual arousal than the non pornographic images, but just realise if you search either of them for sexual arousal then it's doing the exact same thing in the brain, and it's the exact same behaviour.

I used to think this too so whenever I saw an attractive woman in a movie or tv show I would look away even though she’d be fully dressed because it elicited a feeling in me. Although seeing attractive women can raise dopamine levels it is not porn. It’s about your mindset like you said. If you are intentionally looking up pictures of women ti get aroused even though the pictures aren’t traditional porn it still has a similar pmo affect on the brain but just to a lower degree.

What someone on here told me a few years ago was that you need to (or you may naturally shift after abstaining for a long time) shift your perspective of what you are seeing.

You’re still identifying yourself as an ADDICT when you are still rebooting. But to everyone who has long finished their reboot or who have never been addicted seeing pictures of an attractive girl is just that, a normal picture, it’s not porn to them because their minds are different.

Am I making sense ? I feel like I just rambled but I get your plight brother I used to have the same worry and avoided all movies or tv shows with attractive women in them but found this idiotic.

  3. I would say anything that turns me on. I try to avoid getting in the situations where I'm exposed to it, I don't get bogged down trying to decide if I should reset my counter if I have a fantasy or see a pick of some woman in yoga pants while looking at a catalog or walking around. This kind of behavior can make someone frustrated and want to give up.

If you deliberately search for women in yoga pants for sexual arousal then this is the same behaviour as searching for what is categorised as porn content for sexual arousal. Searching for anything artificial that sexually arouses you is doing the exact same thing in the brain. Also remember you don't need to be masturbating to it to be sexually aroused by it. Although of course masturbating to it is worse.

You want to become sexually aroused by women in real life and seek after women in real life. You don't want to be seeking after pixels and videos for sexual arousal.

  5. I am not deliberately searching. But when I am walking around and see a hot chick or stumble upon one while online or looking in a catalog my male biology is going to turn on. I can't help it, and being on nofap makes me more sensitive to it.

I am already aroused(by that I mean "turned on by their appearance") by women in real life, but being raised without a dad or a male mentor, my ability to talk to and attract women is shit. The only thing I can think of doing is trying to be successful at work.

A supreme court justice, I don't know which one, was asked this question to which he responded; "I know it when I see it". Haha, glad to complicate it more for you.

You want to be turned on at seeing a hot chick in the flesh. It's natural to be turned on if you accidentally stumble across an image or video of a hot chick online. But it's what you do afterwards that's important. If you start searching more images and videos of hot chicks for sexual arousal then this is the problem.

It's the behaviour you should be trying to change.

  8. I am turned on by a hot chick "in the flesh" but I don't want to. It is a distraction and just leads to me fapping when I go home.

I know I need to change my behavior.
That's why I am doing nofap. At least in the short term, I have changed my behavior.

Yeah but some things are normal and some things are not normal. It's natural for your brain to release high amounts of dopamine and be turned on by a real woman in front of you. However it's not natural that you search and masturbate to unlimited sexual stimulation that it leads you to getting sexual dysfunctions like ed when your with a real woman.

For most guys the goal is to psychically be able to have sex, and have better sex.

I don't know why any guy wouldn't want to be turned on by a woman in the flesh. That's actually a really good sign.

  11. Well, I gave you a reason earlier. If your social skills suck, you'll never get to be with her so, that would be a reason.

Surely you would still want to be sexually wired to real women though? Rather than only being sexually wired to pixels and videos on a screen?

When you logically think about it it's crazy. A lot of men these days are sexually wired to women on a screen but not to women in real life. It's crazy and really sad to be honest.

Imagine all the male animals in the wild couldn't get turned on by the female animals? and they all had erectile dysfunction and preferred to just sit and stare at a screen watching other animals having sex.
