Its almost 15 days since I've joined this community and by Almighty's grace I have never went back to PMO since then. So I thought to recommend this forum to my friends and when I said about this they started to laugh. It's like they don't see PMO as a disease or an addiction. They said like "We do it every day and what's harmful in it?It's natural. You don't have to treat it as an addiction. You're making it sound weird. We want you to leave this forum and act normal" Look how foolish people are? No matter what the fact we provide? They don't seem to change or try to. I feel pity for them, I feel sorry for them. I'd try my level best to help them. To show the real side of PMO and what it costs. God bless everyone!!!

  3. I've come up to the idea that governments around the world want their people as limited as possible, by giving them porn. Like a sedative to a dog. Just saying.
Of course those who are victims will never admit they have a problem. Until they find themselves in an already advanced addiction stage, and do some research.
Porn should already be seen as detrimental, but it's not. Guess the industry is too powerful and profitable.
p.s. As far as I know, a few eastern states have banned porn and in more out of ordinary cases it's even considered a felony to watch it. I guess they really know something, and it might not be just religion at the middle.
p.s.2. check this out, i did some more research:
    green-legal
    yellow-partially legal
    red-ILLEGAL

Self improvement is something people have to do on their own, no one can force them.

It’s great that you decided to continue despite having friends who don’t see the benefit. You should be proud of that. They may recognize the effects and damage later on when they loose control of it. I hope they dont but if they do it’s great that they have a friend like you who can help them.

  6. Man I just wanted to say your attitude here is awesome. Thank you so much for how you see this. I have to assume it takes great restraint to not fall into lecturing people on the basis of the stuff they need fixing. “Mothering” basically. Thank you so much.

Your friends obviously haven't been hit hard with the impacts of what pmo can do to a person, therefore they don't take this forum seriously. Some must fall on their own before they start to see the value.. I too have friends that havent been hit hard by the effects of pmo. My only thing I can come up with is that my addiction was much more severe as theirs. All I know is I've been recovering with going through withdrawal from no pmo and that proves how real it can affect the human brain. Sometimes you cant warn people that dont want to believe something like pmo is proven to be harmful when they think they are know it alls. At least take pride that all of us here know the truth and always are there to help one another. Best to you all on this fight for freedom!

I doubt simply making porn illegal will end addictions. People will just use a VPN or find another way.. It is probably more effective to inform the general public about the negative effects of pornography. And even this will be difficult, since so many people are stuck in a 'live and let live' worldview in which any attempt to help or warn others is viewed as an infringement on people's personal lives.

On the bright side, I know Andrew Yang (Democratic candidate) is aware of the effects of pornography. However, he is being ridiculed by Republicans, Democrats and his own supporters for daring to suggest porn may be bad for a nation's health. And he doesn't stand much of a chance of being elected.

Glad that we found each other!!!

  12. I applaud you becoming vulnerable with your friends by sharing very personal experience but you kind of defeated the point by trying to convince them you are right and they are wrong.
Now you feel betrayed in a way betrayed and shamed by your own friends and it is mostly your own fault.
You shamed and disrespected them - those losers, they are blind, they do not want to change! Off course they will reject you, because this new thing makes you hostile to them, you are putting it in the way of your friendship.
Respect your friends, always, respect their opinions. Then they will respect you and listen to what you have to say.

  13. I hope you follow through with that intention of trying to help them. They are your friends after all, but be patient if they laugh at first. They are wrong on two important details: (1) porn is by definition unnatural. And (2) - naturality does not imply goodness. But you should know that it might not be an addiction for everybody, and we know very little about its effects at this point besides personal testimony, so perhaps it does not hurt them as much as it hurts you and me.

  14. I sincerely hope that you aren't advocating for the criminalization of porn.

it is something to notice that in places where buddhism & hinduism & Islam is mainstream (China, India, South Eastern Asia, Middle East), porn is banned. While in the christianity mainstream (America, Europe), porn is not really banned. The reason might be that the former religions mentioned treat porn & lust as a sin. This is just my opinion, feel free to discuss :)

Many of us have been in that swamp of ignorance and I was one of them for 14-15 years!
When looking back, I was totally unaware of the consequences of PMO at the time and thought it was almost as normal as having a beer or glass of wine (if not more so). It wasn't until my last streak began to take off (with the brain-fog dispersing) that I could finally see how all the negative implications it had on my own life that I don't even know where to begin.
The worst effects were probably the regular compulsive behavior to M to the material (and without it) and the accompanying anxiety, semi-depression, and indifferent attitude towards life it brought. All of it probably due to the decline of T-levels that PMO brought.
