physical effects of sexual exhaustion

    How old are you and how long have you been PMOing?

    I am 39 and have all the physical symptoms listed I am finishing week 3 of no PMO (I did have sex with my gf two days ago and O once). Nothing has improved for me yet except the sleep quality

    I'm 29 and was PMOing from 19 through to 29, so a decade, 2-3 hours a day religiously. It's tough when you're in a relationship but I think going at least the first 30 days without O in any form is key. But I think you need to stop worrying about timeframes because you're setting yourself up for disappointment, some people see improvement in a week, for others its 2-3 months. Just take comfort in the fact that you are headed in the right direction and things will get better if you continue on this path

    Yeah i started at 14 too. 20 years now, but i been tighting for like 7 years. The fuking hollywood elite producers and all those forces have really weaponized porn to destroy us. But NOW WE KNOW. NOW WE FIGHT!!! AND WE WILL WIN!!! AND SMASH THAT SAN FERNANDO VALLEY TO HELL!!!

    Yep, I've long heard of the adrenal glands being involved in long term fatigue. Back in 2003 when I was first dealing with CFS and came across a book by a Canadian doctor called Hans Selye called "The Stress of Life". On one page he listed potential causes of fatigue that could stress the adrenal glands, and impair their ability to function, with a broad range of health problems as a result - bascially, yhe things that we are taking about in this thread.

    One of the causes of adrenal stress listed was "excessive venery". I sort of knew what it meant, but bear in mind that the book was written in the 1950's, and I was more focused on stress in the conventional sense being the problem for me, so I didn't take it seriously at the time, but it stuck in my mind because it's such an unusual phrase. Years (and much suffering) later, I finally realised that he was basically referring to too much PMO, but "excessive venery" could also just mean too much sex - it's a broad term that basically means too much sexual stimulation. That was when the penny dropped for me, and I began my Nofap journey.

    I was tested for adrenal function around 2005, and it was found to be poor. Unfortuantely, getting access to that kind of test can be difficult, and lets be honest, is it actually that useful? I know that PMO is the cause (or at least the main cause) of my problems, and given enough time I should recover. I guess if there's a take-away message here, it's that all lustful thoughts have the potential to stress the adrenal glands, and thus our overall health - more so if you've been doing it way too much for a long time, without enough recovery time.

    My thinking would be that it's actually the excessive ejaculation that is causing this issue for us be it too much sex or excessive PMO.

    Logically the first issue is highly improbable because to spend hours every day ejaculating 5 times per day during sex is not realistic even for the P industry actors never mind the regular Joe.

    However for PMO addicts it's very easy to sit and surf and fap for hours and hours until complete exhaustion and nutrient deficit.

    In a healthy individual this is not a problem because body has reserves of vitamins and minerals. In addicts I would say we deplete those stores very quickly and as our reproductive organism has first priority body keep pulling nutrients from the rest of the organs. Also all kinds of hormones are being released. A study was done proving increase in prolactin levels after O. This hormone plays a huge role on joints and connective tissues as well as on other hormones such as our daddy testosterone.

    What I have noticed bear in mind that I'm only finishing week 3 of no PM (can't say PMO anymore girlfriend forced sex out of me once few days ago) is the insomnia improved BIG time.

    The rest of the symptoms are still there although muscle twitching has decreased quite a bit.

    I have read that excessive sweating could be coming from vitamid d deficiency so am waiting for high quality cod liver oil to arrive from amazon

    Practicing Chi Kung and using Traditional Chinese Medicine has helped me recover. I practice Zhan Zhuang. Our teacher made this TV series for Channel 4 in the UK:

    Unlike the founders of NoFap, I have come to believe that masturbation is largely disastrous for men and I bitterly regret all the years that I did it. The wasting of your vital male energy can affect every aspect of your health and of course it completely changes your interactions with females.

    Traditional Chinese Medicine would say that this is due to the weakening effect masturbation has on the kidneys. Weak kidneys also affect your memory. Chi Kung has helped me recover to some extent.

    I understand completely. I did it daily between the ages of 13 and 21 and then frequently until I was 26. Try Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chi Kung.

    Is there any scientific proof to this kidney theory?

    I often read on this but I don't understand the mechanism behind the MO or just O and kidneys

    Try Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chi Kung. I actually moved to Beijing to see a truly remarkable Chinese doctor help me with this.

    Yes, I completely disagree that porn is the main issue. It's actually the loss of your vital energy through ejaculation. Any Traditional Chinese doctor will tell you the same. They did actually use to tell boys that excessive masturbation would harm their health but it seems to have gone out of fashion in the 60s / 70s. ALL the world's major religions consider masturbation to be harmful. Unfortunately they usually coached it in terms like 'dirty' 'shameful' etc. when really the issue is the loss of male vitality and reduced ability to make children.

    Is there any proof that masturbation is as healthy as Western doctors say it is? When we're all on here describing the effects it has had on our bodies?

    Traditional Chinese Medicine is over 3000 years old. The knowledge has been refined through experience and observation. I took anti-depressants for 15 years and had two catastrophic episodes of clinical depression when I tried to stop taking it. I moved to Beijing to have treatment with a remarkable acupuncturist and 12 months ago, with his help and another doctor, I stopped taking the pills and have never been healthier.

    Im not saying there is no connection between O and kidneys I am just trying to figure out what it is and how it weakens them.
     
  15. As a rule of thumb you probably shouldn't be ejaculating more than a woman menstruates. Traditional Chinese medicin and some Eastern philosophies seem to understand this and generally advise to ejaculate once a month or preferably less. People in withdrawal should never consciously ejaculate. It puts enormous stress on the adrenal glands because of the arousal which involves a lot of adrenalin and adrenalin derivatives such as dopamine. The adrenal glands are part of the kidneys so this may be why it weakens the kidneys. They are directly involved in processing the toxins and byproducts secreted during the arousal.

    I may be way off on this, but your body and/or brain healing saps your energy. I injured my back approx one year ago. Had to quit my job because of it. Layed around the house for a couple months, even that was exhausting. When I started feeling a little better I started working again, still exhausted constantly. Only now, one year later, am I starting to feel better finally. What's more, I had to completely change my habits and lifestyle to get to this point. Ive had to be VERY careful not to reinjure so as not to go back ten steps in my recovery. I'm only on day 5 of nofap, and I've never been past day 14, although I plan to this time. I would imagine recovering from pmo addiction is just like a back injury in the physical sense. I fully expect to flatline next week and Ill be back on this thread.

    Lots on here to read thru, so I’m joining the convo! I also suffer from PIES and I went 101 days hard mode and then me and my wife were intimate then, then I went 103 more days for a total of 204 P and M free, then I fell, and fell hard.


    So now I’m back to 45 free of P but still getting O’s with my wife. Hoping that won’t negatively affect me and it will help me with natural sexual contact. I will not touch myself.


    I will come back and Comment more about my situation when I read through the rest of the thread. Best of luck everyone.

  19. Yes. Great thread brothers. This road we all share is a rough one. Nothing worse than losing your own personality and replacing it with a different and crappy version of your already mediocre self. Mentally and physically. At least the fear of the mystery is gone. Now we have to stay on this road. The destination is our true selves. Don’t take too many detours, time adds up fast. But it’s always a relief to find others who have all my symptoms. Ty all for sharing
