Is it related to dopamine/serotonin or other hormonal imbalances?

  2. Interesting that you have it considering your age.

Just before turning 50 I was getting them a lot. (This was about 4-5 years ago before trying to quit porn).

I’d break out in a sweat laying down, doing nothing.

I’ve heard from people, including my mom, and read about the phenomena of “male menopause” which after my experiences I think is real.

I no longer have problems with hot flashes now that I’m 51.

Yes Exactly it is surprising for me and also my doctor. I have high estrogen level by the way. But my doctor didn't gave me any pill for it! I'm sure that this problem of mine is related to PMO. Because whenver I ejcaulate (even during sleep) the syptoms get worse...
But I don't know were this problem is coming from...

  4. I think there’s a lot about the human body that even the most educated doctors don’t understand.

For me I just waited it out and the symptoms went away.

For you if it gets overly uncomfortable perhaps a specialist will be needed???

I wish you all the best in getting the care you need.

I went to a specialist. He saw that my estrogen is high (50 while the up limit is 44) and he said that it is natural and no problem!! I also have gyno.
You know all my symptoms get worse after ejaculation!
This makes me surprise and no doctor have the answer for it :|
At first I thought that maybe prolactin is to blame considering that after ejaculation prolactin levels go high. But my prolactin result was ok. My testosterone level is 17. it is in the normal range! However, I Think it is low...
I really don't know what to do anymore. I'm also tired of doctors!

  6. Hope you can find the cure soon. Sounds like it's very frustrating. I know what you mean about doctors. They can seem like a waste of time occasionally. But I've found that for the most part they are helpful.

Thank you for your great wish. I hope I get better soon because its about a year that I'm sitting in home and I'm not able to do anything... I believe all the symptoms are caused by the excess PMO which I did in the past...
Doctors are waste of money and time... All they can say about a case which they don't understand is that "your symptoms are caused by anxiety you have!! take this SSRI and consume it for 4months and we'll see if it works for you or not!" no trust in them... I think we should find our problems ourselves and just use doctors for consulting!!

I started to get hot flashes after I abstained from PMO more than year ago. I'm 41 and initially thought it might be related to some hormones disbalance because of age or maybe withdrawals, but now I find it more likely that it's anxiety related. I usually get hot flashes in the mornings and nights, but only when I experience very strong psychological tension. I'm also taking sulpiride, it's the drug that reduces psychosomatic symptoms.

  9. Hey guys, I just had my first hot flash today. I was sitting in class and I just couldn't stop sweating. I had to sit motionless for a good 10 minutes to try and calm down. I am not that far along but I think I had one.

Got the sweats a few times since I've stopped, not under any stress at the time or exercising, glad to hear that other people have experienced them as well. Does anyone know how long they last for?

  11. I get hot flashes periodically. It comes and goes. I'm pretty sure they decrease in frequency and intensity as you give your brain some time to rewire. If I remember correctly, the last time I abstained, true good living started at around day 40. However, I'm gonna avoid making myself promises as I could relapse as a result of seeing them unrealized.

Also, looking at all our counters, we're all around day 20. I'm gonna go ahead and hypothesize that this timeframe is typically when most people experience their flatline symptoms.

  12. Yes, I agree. I feel that the first month is when the worst of it occurs.

It is interesting for me that the hot flashes begin after about 10 days of sobriety. Specially when i wake up late. When I wake up early I don't experience hot flashes. I don't know if this can give any clue for the root cause of it or not...
Anyone who experience this issue please let me know. Thank you all

  14. Yes hot flashes could be pmo symptoms related. Search nofap withdrawal symptoms in this forum and you will see many other symptoms caused by pmo before or after abstention.

For people with age 50+ if I were y'all, I would cut masturbation porn and orgasm completely. At this age, 30 minutes walking at least is recommended. I'm no doctor but usually they'd tell you that. Also healthy eating is very important.
