Hi guys. I am 16 and I'm doing an apprenticeship in Electrical Installation. I need to be up early, like 5:45am and ready by 6:15am for work most days, however I set my alarm and I always end up feeling very groggy and tired in mornings. I usually get 5 hours of sleep, but the past few days I got 6-7 hours. I felt even worse and slept in till 6:10! I just can't get up at all, I'm typically 5-10 minutes late. Any tips? Should sleeping more help?

  2. you need a regular rhythm. if you always go to sleep and wake up at different times your body can not accomodate fast enough and you will feel like a wreck. try to get at least 7 hours of sleep, you are still growing man. don't you want every inch you can possibly get? you only grow in your sleep.

A regular sleep pattern will help massively in my experience, I always struggled getting up at 6:30am on weekdays but I slept in at the weekend til 10-11am, I now get up at 7 every weekend so on weekdays I'm only getting up half an hour earlier than weekends instead of 4-5 hours earlier, which makes a huge difference

  6. 5hours of sleep per day is not enough. Take the time to watch Joe Rogans podcast with the sleep researcher. When you watch this you will never want to miss an hour of sleep again.
What helped me to sleep well is:
    1. Stand up at the same time every day even on Saturday and Sunday
    2. No coffee, no tea, no caffeine
    3. Workout
    4. No phone or computer in bed
    5. Some prayer about how the day actually went
    6. No alcohol

    Here is the podcast:

    THATS GOOD ADVICE.

#1 No Pmo will give you more Energy-Motivation
#2 You are transitioning to a new wake-up time -- takes 3-4 weeks
#3 Most people need 7-9 hours sleep daily. At age 16, your body is still growing-repairing until age 21.
#4 AVOID caffeine (coffee, tea, sodas, chocolate) after 12 pm noon.

Good Luck ……. it will get better and better, day by day.

Firstly, congratulations @SparkySub on starting an apprenticeship in such a specialised trade as electrical (the sky is the limit on how many directions you can go in this trade, and is directly proportional to how many fucks you give.. its really up to you) :)
Secondly, congratulations on starting nofap at such a young age (i just wish i knew about this lifestyle when i was your age..)
Thirdly, :) i like my late Pop's advice to me (when i started out in the trade) "set up your alarm clock on the other side of the room.. so you have to get out of bed to turn it off"..

I never thought about setting it at the other side of the room lol. Well this week has started off well luckily, in terms of waking up. Thanks for the kind words.

I wake up before 6 every day, usually between 5 and 5.30. What works for me - do something you enjoy first thing on waking up - whether it's a fun work out, some comedy, a few pages of a book you are enjoying, etc. Something that you will be really gutted if you slept an extra 10 minutes and missed out on. Make it a pleasure not a chore to get up on time.
As others have said, if you do this daily for a month or so you will no longer need to force/bribe yourself out of bed, you will naturally wake up on time. But this advice might help you though the next few weeks.

Set your alarm 15 minutes before you would set, then make 1 15-minute nap.
    And try to sleep 8hours.
