Using Porn to Stop Feeling Bad, Please, stop this. You need to stop medicating yourself with porn every time you feel pain and discomfort. This is ignorance of the reality of life. Stress, depression, frustration, hangovers, boredom, injuries, physical pain, anxiety, embarrassment. Do you know what they are? Do you know what they’re called? They’re called LIFE. Do not run away from life. Do not run away from reality. We will never become happy if we keep doing this.

All these bad feelings are temporary. Boredom, stress, hangovers, feeling down. They will all pass. If we keep taking refuge in porn and running away from pain and discomfort then we will never be able to grow as persons and become real men. We need to break out of this cycle. Or at the very least try to. Otherwise, what are you going to do when things get tough in life? Hide in your room? Become depressed? What are you going to do when you realize that hitting on girls brings up a lot of anxiety and nervousness? Runaway? Make excuses?.

Don't do this and I can guarantee 100% success in this journey.

Can attest, porn is a coping mechanism often. Especially if you are socially isolated : (

I think Loneliness and sadness are currently at a peak in my life. It has never been like this. I don't know how to deal with it anymore.
I use to like being alone. I enjoyed being alone but now I'm just so afraid of being alone.
Porn seems like the only answer even though I know how bad it is for me in the long term.

I have felt the same way. Seriously I am a self-confessed misanthrope. I don't like other people and the more I get to know them, the more I tend to dislike. I don't know if this is a pathology, but its how I am. However, while I fine being alone before, being now 25 I am scared to death of being alone forever. I'm trying to get a date finally and move on with my life.

Take this advice from me, if you are truly serious about nofap will have to delete all porn from your computer. Even Instagram. All bookmark links, images saved in your photos...the lot. It’s essential in staying clean, and it’s also a peace of mind thing if anyone ever checks your device. Liberate yourself.

Remember that some online newspaper told us that it's """help to sleep""" and, "healthy".
    Yes wow.
    Liars.

By the way, i live in France, and they are teaching little kid about how to masturbate.
Saying that "You have the right to do it, because it's you, it is right"

At the age of 6 and 7.

    They called it "Affection classes"

Porn keeps you up at night. When you rid it from your life you can get a good sleep. Waking up fresh is a great feeling. Our lives happen during the day and so we need to be at our best during the day.

Porn abuse just like substance abuse is a coping mechanism.

One must fix his daily routine and fight the addiction one day at a time.

True. I’m very low atm, down in the gutters, so to speak. This will be hard and the discomfort isn’t going away anytime soon. I think I can manage if I get to breath once in a while, i.e have some days where I feel alright.

In the bigger picture people need to find a better balance between their social life and online networking. The ultimate bad example is when you see a table full of people at a restaurant who are all on their cell phones, and not talking to the real actual people sitting right next to them. It happens all the time. That behavior spreads across all social situations and makes people feel isolated even though they are out in public.

Your post reminded me of a quote from the The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying: "Whatever you do, don't try and escape from your pain, but be with it". If we look at porn as an attempt to escape from emotional pain and distress, we realize that it's this escape attempt that creates more pain.

True. Whenever I feel angry or sad I tell myself to feel that pain and remember it. It’s motivation, and something to look back on in better times.
