I am weak against a woman's voice, therefore I stay away from ASMR, not because of relapses or some other stupid crap, but because of it would only remind me of something I want but I don't have.

  3. Some of those ASMR’s get x-rated. I stay away from all of them now.

  5. I will say there were two ASMR’s about preparing for the “Area 51 raid” that were funny. The gals that did them don’t have any x-rated material.

  6. I would stay away from it because you're using it as an inferior substitute for something that you should be pursuing in real life. Basically what @Infrasapiens said. Also Infra, new avatar when?

Dude the forum doesn't let me use an image I used before. It says it is too heavy.

    I know a man who lost his career because of asmr-addiction. It's a porn-sub.

You are sitting alone in a room and looking at pixels. I'm not an expert in sexology and this is just a personal opinion, but for what it's worth, I think that people get addicted to pornography exactly because they want to alleviate the feeling of loneliness - sexuality is really second to the reasons why people do that. Meanwhile, the loneliness doesn't go anywhere because of porn, - on the opposite, PMO usually shuts a person it away from real connection with real people. A connection is "real" when you are together because you both delight in each other's presence, and Not real if one of you gets paid (directly or indirectly (via advertising or what not) for that connection.

  10. Aw that sucks. Well on the bright side, if I ever forget what your gender is, I can always just look at your avatar placeholder for a quick reminder.

  16. I think real asmr hits another spot than porn. However watching some girl whispering into a plastic ear can easily turn me on and trigger me. Also I have watched porn WITH asmr - but that's just porn.

But there are other things like the sound of fingernails tipping on certain materials - that works for me and it is definitely not a sexual thing.
I think it's nice that there is such a thing on the web. But that doesn't mean I need to go there. When I want to relax I can do it without help of media or I listen to some nice audiobook or music.

Actually there's asmr in real life. As a child I had it more often. Certain settings that give you an odd comforting feeling where you just want to sit and be there ... it's one of the bodies own drugs I guess :D
