slipped :(. got careless yesterday, wife gone to bed and i knew i should have gone with her. instead i was watching tv, starting to get bored but still i didn´t go to sleep. soon i was watching music clips with sexy girls, then it escalade to softcore and so on...

it seems around the 50/60 day mark i can´t stand my ground. i feel nostalgic for nudes or something . but honestly i don´t consider this a relapse since i was on a long streak and no binging envolved. but my counter says "no porn, no masturbation", so it wouldn´t be fair to keep it running.

overall i reset but not relapsed :). the benefits of nofap will continue, i know. but i need to reflect on this slip. any ideas brothers?

  15. not in my book. the point with nofap is to take control.
to set goals and follow them.

we don't control our dreams. and a wet dream is probably just a good sign. most people don't get them when they constantly get their sexual release from porn.

Firstly, your streak was impressive. You should be proud of yourself. Secondly, I'm glad you consider this a reset and not a relapse. You are remaining inside a positive mindset, which is necessary for success.

For reflection, I would think about the need you were trying to fulfill at the time of your reset. Were you trying to fulfill a need for activity because you were bored? Were you trying to fulfill a need of connection because your relationships need to strengthen? By knowing what you need, you'll be less likely to fall prey to temptation.

Also, for reflection, I would encourage you to think about the reasons you were able to succeed. You succeeded in fighting this problem for so many times and days. What were those reasons? Why didn't you relapse? What are the reasons and personal characteristics that kept you from failing at day 1, day 30, day 45, etc.?

Best of luck to you, brother!!!!!

  19. @BMHoff said pretty much all you need to know on reflection: why did you fail and why were you succeeding beforehand? Correct the former and and continue with / emphasize the latter.

I relapsed in a similar situation last time. Those nights where you can't sleep or stay up late, alone, are deadly as fuck. Especially if, like me, you used to PMO to get to sleep. In future, try telling yourself that a sleepless night is a hell of a lot better than going back to PMO. As soon as you have a sexual thought in bed, get up and do something else. The longer you let those thoughts brood, the weaker you become and the more of you they conquer. When a thought first pops up, it will usually be fairly easy to ignore - but if you lie there long enough, eventually you'll capitulate no matter what and give in.

If you get up and distract yourself, however, you might lose a little bit of sleep - in the worst cases maybe even a few hours or, who knows, an entire night. But it will be far easier to resist PMO. And each one of those nights you resist, you'll get stronger - and it will be a little easier to resist. Bit by bit, you'll condition these thoughts out of yourself. Eventually you'll hardly lose any sleep over this at all. You'll have won.

Your streak was super impressive dude, you can get back up there again; I believe in you.
