This makes a lot of sense and I've thought and said a lot of similar things for a while now. Its honestly common sense but as a society we are conditioned to not question it and those who do are labelled as being weird for not asking the obvious questions. Questions like;

I could go on but these questions are rhetorical as we all know the answer. Porn is essentially a form of hypnosis that conditions you and placates you, makes you docile and weak. Its literally designed to take advantage of our primal brain reward system and we arent biologically built to handle it.

Short question but a long answer:

Reality is almost never as good as the fantasy. For me the center is always the woman and the other men I don't really care about them, sure when we were sharing with 1 or more guys it could be fun, but most of the times if they were only watching I completely forgot about them.
Coming back to your question, I will tell you a bit of what I have done in the past, please don't judge me, just being honest of what porn addiction can do.
With one it was very good and I enjoyed the whole thing very much but with others it didn't do much for me and just wanted to get it over and really not worth it. For me it was more psychological but other men might feel different about it. For me in the end it really depends on the woman.
Don't think playing the bull is that great either, with some it really felt good depending on the connection I had with the women and enjoyed the sex but in general it just made me feel very empty. Many years of porn addiction, being single, feeling lonely is a bad match, made me look for thrills a common person would not do.

The big difference is, you are talking about your wife, for me I was the bull and had absolutely no connection with the women or couples, meaning there are no emotional repurcusions for me I don't need to deal with the aftermath of what happens between them, although most of the couples were very experiences swingers/cuckolds and cheaters as it is there way of life. For you the aftermath can be distastrous depending on both of your personalities and life together. What comes after for both of you, what are your expectations. Your lifestyle can completely change for both of you, sure the people I met enjoyed it but they had strict rules between them, but I'm sure others had there relationship destroyed.
