Twitter ban porn?

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Dec 23, 2019.

  1. Hi, so i heard few days ago that twitter will ban porn in early 2020. Is it true? Does anyone have any infos about it? I hope they will, i've relapsed so many times because of twitter but i can't delete my account for now so i try to avoid P as much as possible but it would be so much easier if porn was completely out of it....

Twitter needs money don't care if comes from P or whatever and if you look Twitter verified pornstars account do you think who verified porn accounts will fight it ? When Yahoo bought tumblr.com announced that " no porn pages will remove " just to keep the users, who is thinking about the money only will sell his ass

  4. I never got into twitter...I'm glad really because i see the things some of my work colleagues have been sent randomly when they shove their phone in your face and say 'oi look at that' (with a smirk on their face) I stay away from all social media these days, it's one thing to be in control of what you 'choose' to look at and it's not nice when you don't have that choice. I've seen horror stories in the press about people being sent illegal content, even though they didn't request it, they still ended up in trouble with the law due to the fact possession is 9/10ths of the law etc.

If anyone does ever get sent something illegal from a stranger or a friend, you absolutely must report it to the authorities the same day you receive it

  5. Well, unlike Tumblr, Twitter can easily survive without porn. Yes, Pornstar and Pornsite will fight it since they use it to have way more traffic and to keep in touch with theirs fans, but... idk, i guess we'll see how it goes.

Twitter is like everything, if you use it the wrong way it's bad, but it can be good too. I had a P account on it and now, i just have my regular account wich i use to share things i like, for work or to keep in touch with some people and i only follow "good" people so i don't have many problems, my main issue is that i still remember the name of the old porn accounts i used to like so it's easy to find them when my urges hit me too hard and since it's the main reason why i relapse, it would be way easier if Twitter ban porn. Also, if you see something interesting in top trends section and you randomly find porn, it doesn't really help. But yea, you're absolutely right to not have an account, it's mostly a waist of time.

  6. Twitter is boring as shit , you seem to have more addictions that all bleed into each other .

Internet addiction, seems to be the biggest culprit

I've put multiple blocks on porn and hope that keeps me away from it . I've also put app locks on my phone .

I don't do Facebook, Twitter , all I use is Reddit , YouTube and online forums , in the Ways of social media the rest is really pointless , unless you have some sort of connection to the people you checkout . But overall if your addicted to checking out pictures , images and Wats going on with complete strangers , your also probably easily addicted to porn the fact they advertise porn on these platforms

If your having serious issues and can't do NoFap and spend hours of your day scrolling shyte , you'd be better trying to take a break from them all

  7. I did take a break from it some weeks ago and i figured that i had a problems with twitter as well, but nothing comparable to a real addiction like porn addiction. since then, i've drastically reduce the time i spend on it. If i could let go my P addiction as i've reduce my time on twitter, i wouldn't be here.

i had to drop that one too. There is way too much P content in it and I realized that the whole site gave me anxiety.
I still use YouTube but only watch a handful of YouTubers.

I heard they are going to ban only extreme porn, that has violence and abuse. Also they want to improve their system, that makes porn be blured and needed to be clicked to watch. By now this system is already exist for long time, but simply not working.

I wish we could have a porn blocker than use a neural network to guess if an image contain porn and block it automatically.

Such systems exist, for commercial corporate use only. But I tried them and they around 50-60% accurate. And may ban normal images.

Before the point when machine will understand what is actually is porn, not like learn by some ... porn library of what kind of images needs to be banned, I believe we will not get this fully working solution.

But I agree that each browser needs this stuff to be available by default or at least ask on installation.

  12. It's a drop in the ocean, blurring content, banning extreme stuff etc on one platform only for it to appear on another one. The real problem is the mentality that porn instills in people and the messages they take from it about relationships, consent and the addictive nature of how it's delivered. The horse has already bolted before the stable door is shut and although some platforms like twitter might be at least trying to do something, it's like putting a plaster on a massive gaping wound.

  13. Twitter is no different than pornhub in its triggering contents, it is full of that crap. I don't believe they will do anything about it.
