Seriously, there is no way to block porn for good?

No one has developed a way to completely block access to porn? Blocking porn is akin to telling a cocaine attic to flush their drugs down the toilet and delete all drug dealer contacts.

But if you don’t block, that’s like the cocaine attic still having the drugs around the house, with the drugs being easily accessible. If there is a hardcore addiction, relapse WILL occur.

Most answers in regards to blocking porn are arm chair theory: “go outside”, “meditate”, “use willpower”

This is a serious addiction folks that involves brain changes. These techniques work to an extent, but the supply MUST BE ELIMINATED.

“Don’t flush your drugs, leave them there in plain sight. You need to simply build up willpower to resist it everytime you see it.”

The brain has undergone serious addiction changes that rewired the brain to want that source of pleasure (cocaine, porn). There are physiological cravings as a result that are difficult if not impossible to ignore. Not removing the source of the addiction is by in large the definition of insanity.

Also willpower is great, but science shows that willpower is a limited resource that depletes. What happens when willpower runs out and the source of the addiction is right there, readily accessible? You know the answer.

Haven't tried this yet as I am home for the holidays, but it looks very promising.

Cant post link but look up
    "chadmayfield blocking porn with pihole"

The method I currently use is a porn blocking browser on my phone (Spin Browser), and a modified hosts file on my laptop. An example hosts file is here:
(Cant post link but look up "github Steven Black porn blocker hosts file")

Just copy paste the contents of that into your hosts file. On Windows, the file can be found here: "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts"

The best i've come up with is using openDNS for general blocking and the hosts file for blocking specific websites that openDNS misses. On my phone I use lineageos and used a script through twrp to delete the default browser, the only avaiable browser is now the spin browser, but even that isn't perfect. Apart from locking yourself in a padded room there is no way to make it impossible to view porn, unless you want to get rid of all your devices, and don't delude yourself into thinking otherwise.

I can block your porn, 100%

Pluckeye blocker blocks every single image/video on your computer.

And you can't bypass it.. because it doesn't use lame passwords.

Plus, you can use Open DNS for Xtra protection.

and if you majored in Computer Tech in kindergarten, I recommend using your router administration to schedule internet access so you don't go hacking your computer in your sleep. Then, block the router admin site & address & etc. with pluckeye
(command for pluckeye is: Pluck add "block mysite.com")

The hosts file is way too easy to bypass and it requires an up to date list. Also doesn’t work with subreddit.

Pluckeye doesn’t prevent access to porn games, torrents or image pack.

there was one software on OS X that killed the internet for 1 or more hours, just enough to cool down. I knew a way to disable it but it was quite technical.

Sadly I’m too tech savvy for anything to work effectively. I tried everything but because I’m also curious, I take it as a challenge to bypass any protection. Therefore I don’t rely on porn blocker.

The whitelist approach is probably more effective. But I don’t know any soft doing that (k9 did it).
Back then I used k9 with a lengthy password that I put on a piece of paper and gave it to someone else. (Until I realized you could ask for a password reset by mail)

I could never make those stupid DNS programs work on my computer, they never work and even if they did since I'm the admin, could just disable them

you could try to use a limited account and set a strong admin password that you hide or give to someone. It has a lot of restriction but depending on what you do on your computer it can be worth a shot.
