    Hey Rexbrent,

In my experience, addictions can distract us from real life. In the midst of a severe addiction, our brains are focused on a single thing - our addiction. Free thought and mindfulness are rare and fleeting. Once an addiction has been smothered, however, our brains have a much stronger connection with the world around us and, from our perspective, may seem to be more active. I've always viewed this as a positive benefit. Free from addiction, I have more focus and mental energy to think about things that matter. Try channeling your overactive mind towards productive and worthwhile aims. Make plans for the future, get your life in order in the present, better yourself. Meditation can help organize a cluttered mind. Give it a try! If you are worried about your mental health, I would highly recommend meeting with a mental health professional.

    My two cents,

My mind raced consciously and unconsciously for a long period of time. I would definitely recommend meditation as well. Nothing complex, simply watching your breath or the thoughts that appear in your mind. Like anything worth doing it does require effort. Try researching Jon kabat zinn, thich Nat han or Osho.

Hey. I'm an overthinker as well. Just how I am. I think about stuff I say or stuff that happens a lot. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it fucks me over. Whats your experience?
