I'll just echo what Yugo already mentioned, Your Brain on Porn. I ordered it recently and haven't gotten it/read it but I just know it's going to be the best.

I very recently read "Your Brain on Porn", and agree its a very good read...eye opening! I mentioned this in another post, but what I am finding help me in my own journey is researching the science behind NoFap...what is really going on in the brain when we fap to porn. Understanding what it's doing to me from a neurological and chemical point of view, I find, makes it tangible... like the difference between being told smoking is bad, and seeing the inside of a smokers lungs for yourself. I'm using that as motivation to abstain...which (touch wood) seems to be working for me.

I'm reading "The Power of Habit" by Charles Duhigg at the moment. I'm only a little bit into it, but intersting so far...how habits are learnt and reanacted subconsciously by a completely different part of the brain to your decision making or logical brain. The goal is to "plant" better habits into my brain when it comes to exercise, brushing teeth before bed, being more mindful and appreciative of the small things, eating habits etc. Early days!

I've also read a few books by pick-up-artists recently, trying to get better with women. That's something I want to work on in 2020, along side this NoFap journey...something I feel I am weak on currently. I've had many female friends in my life time, but I've never attracted any of them (and starting to understand why!). The Game by Neil Stauss (really good read mearly for entertainment factor), The Mystory Method, Power of Seduction etc.

Mentioned above, but "How to Win Friends and Influence People" is a must read... planning on reading it a 2nd time after The Power of Habit.

I'll look into those other books mentioned by Yugowolf1991, thanks for the tip! :)

Same. Actually there is a reading of it on youtube which I have been enjoying on the way to work. After I have finished it, probably by the end of this week, I'm going to have a think how I can implement some of the ideas in my life. I have made some big changes this past year - not least of which, I am now an early riser (<6am daily), which has helped me achieve many other goals (daily yoga, bible reading, healthy breakfast each morning, etc) compared to when I used to chuck my clothes on and dash off to work bleary eyed and late - which I did for years....

    From my journal:
one initial observation from thinking about this stuff is that I don't think I relapse because I am horny, but when I am bored and/or procrastinating because I am putting off doing something difficult. Hanging around attractive girls all day doesn't seem to have any effect on whether I relapse or not, but having coursework due in a few days' time does. Putting off studying -> idle internet browsing -> PMo. Which in turn leads to binge eating (have been trying and failing to lose 20 lbs for years as well), more idle internet browsing and procrastination, etc.
