So recently, somehow, I just made myself stop watching porn, masturbating, etc. I don't really have a sex life right now so that's not a problem either. I was going strong for a while, a few weeks for sure, however after staying in the shower too long and getting bored, I ended up breaking the recovery. It's been maybe a week or 2 since then and I haven't been able to do it again. The first attempt I got through the first week but succumbed, and since then it's been every few days until it's back to everyday. I'm not sure how I got the motivation to do so but do any of you have any suggestions (other than "believe in yourself" or "just do it" or "make yourself", they don't help) to help me get back to that stage or further. I noticed a real improvement and I want to get back to that point. Thanks.

Don't be scare of failure because you are fighting with a part of you. It's most difficult battle. Do not let failure define you. Wake up strong my friend. You will do it.

Thanks, man. Do you advise I do it completely on my own or have some outside help like a program, and if so, what would you recommend?

I personally think it's our inner wish. Our willingness to achieve it. God help those who help themselves, this is not just a saying but it has deep meaning. Our mind is wonderful servent but terrible master. So point is, don't fight your mind ignore it. Just observe your mind for some time. We will do it my friend, our will is strong that's why we are here.

Hey Fileplace. Ted Talks really do help. I really like the one by Eli Nash. Also, motivation is a thing that is a "concept".

I tell myself that I am a beast every morning, who can do whatever he wants, and porn is my cage, that i inflicted upon myself. So that keeps me going for a while. when you feel the urge, if you can go to a place filled with people, because that forces it to leave. Meditating also helps in speeding the recovery process. Set other goals for yourself apart from just no pmo, and enjoy some of your hobbies. You also do not want to spare too much time for PMO, which can help divert attention/distract you. Start today, just like i did after i relapsed. Good luck! :)
