Why have sexual trends gotten so weird?

That is good to know; many women would prefer vaginal sex, whether face to face with a romantic partner or so called doggy style, a phrase I don't particularly care for as the objective should be to make love not be an animal. The kama sutra goes into various positions to make the physical relationship interesting with natural variety. Some positions get crazy athletic, not for the majority.

  2. what most people mean by making love is to show both emotional and physical investment into your partner, and not make them feel degraded or used. Brutal coitus has never been that appealing to begin with, women cannot be satisfied with it and neither can men. To be honest I think the kama sutra is very much having on the making love scale, you will never see any form of brutality in those books detailing the kama sutra.

Porn in it's current incarnation hasn't been around until 2006, so I'd say there is something else fueling the escalation. Not saying porn hasn't made it worse though, it probably has.

I'd be interested in knowing what happened in 2006. From what I have seen the more aesthetic stuff got streamlined, with lesbian porn exploding as a genre. Previously what I generally saw were people who "looked" like porn actresses, unhealthy and unathletic. Beastial, brutal porn existed for a long time with grotesque films like deepthroat, etc.. You wonder why much of that has been legal. They got smart, producing very slick seductive stuff that appeals to educated and white collar audiences.

2006 is when tube sites went online. At least as far as I have always heard. So basically the year internet porn went from waiting an hour to download a video or some pictures, or going to a store to buy a magazine or dvd or tape, to being able to type whatever you wanted into a search engine and getting a bunch of videos you can stream instantly for free.

Very interesting. The only way that this medium could be combated and opposed effectively would be to get all the aspects out in the open, and expose what is really going on, not what is seen for profit. I'm shocked that so little has been done to effectively fight this anti social media.

We've gone from lurid peep shows, xxx theaters, heavily stigmatized movies and shows to something that was mainstreamed, actresses and actors that look in some cases like super models or yoga instructors. The gay for pay phenomenon is one of the strangest commercial developments. Also getting mainstream actresses to push the boundaries of what is acceptable in non x rated shows reveals how insidious the trend has become.

For some reason or another there are a lot of people who dedicate a lot of energy to "pushing boundaries" without ever asking why people decided to create those boundaries.

I mostly agree with what you are saying except I don't get the significance of "prolactin".

    from google

maybe it does other things as well affecting mood?
