What works for me is also start working out. After a good workout you start to eat healthier and take better options. Simply because you've put in the work at the gym and eating bad after kinda makes the workout feel like it was wasted if you know what I mean. Also, up the fiber and protein intake. Both of them wil keep you feelling full longer so the cravings hit you less.

Just like porn, sugar addiction is harmful. I suggest you start weaning yourself off daily. So measure your average daily sugar intake and then make a conscious effort to reduce everyday. I started this in January and have been feeling really energetic and motivated.
I am now able to drink tea without sugar and I always select food with the minimum added sugar. Go for natural sugars where possible and avoid artificial sweeteners, they are much worse.

You don't get diabetes from eating sugar (FYI).
Find healthy and tasty food swaps for your current sweets.
I, personally, don't have a problem with eating sugars at the moment, but I'd suggest the food swap idea.
