Reflections on Two Years Without Porn

Yeah, I agree with everything you said here. These days, porn has entered the field of competing for views with other porn videos on the net, which has made things escalate to a new level. Right now, it's all about making content that's going to grab the attention of viewers and make them click on the video. Sometimes, sexual appeal isn't even the hook of the video, and the creators are going for more of a "shock factor".

For the most part, I'd say the main reason people make porn is for money, but even in the cases of "amateur porn" where it's made by everyday people with their own cameras and computers, I think it's fair to say that the purpose is definitely not sex education or accurately representing what sex is like.

Maybe it's just because I'm reaching the end of my hormonal development as a man (I'm 27 years old now), but I don't even crave sex or PMO that much these days. What I really crave is intimacy, which doesn't necessarily mean sex. I get a lot more excited about a deep, meaningful conversation in a private place with someone I care about than I do about sex these days. I find it a lot more fulfilling to pursue intimacy rather than pursuing sex.

 

I'm fortunate enough that I have no pressure to pursue marriage (or any kind of relationship, for that matter) in my current position. I'm really enjoying just being single and not having a sex partner right now. Life is simpler, and I can just focus on my creativity and bettering myself. I trust that the right woman will come along at the right time (if she even shows up at all haha).
