Hi, I just wanted to to say thank you for the nofap.com website for changing my life!

I just wanted to give some quick motivation for people that are going through the struggle.

I was a chronic masturbator / porn watcher. After discovering nofap last year I feel like a new man.

Here's some tips I've discovered that helped me along the way.
    1. Start gradually - I started off for 2 days, then relapsed, 1 week, then relapsed, 2 weeks, then relapsed then 30 days relapsed. Every time I relapsed (I'd go out on a full porn/masturbatory binge for a day) I would initially beat myself up even though I kept progressing? Which leads me to #2.
    2. DON'T BEAT YOURSELF UP! - Don't feel ashamed, or think to yourself that it's a big deal. I got better at this when I decided to laugh off my relapses and not make it a big deal and treat my next run like a game. Early on when I made it super serious I placed on all this pressure on myself and relapsed. The more I made it less serious the easier I made it without relapsing.
    3. Substitute your free time with something physically constructive. It really does help with withdrawal from any type of addiction. Basically your training yourself to get endorphins from a healthier source. I started getting back to my treadmill routine and I lost 20lbs! Thanks to not fapping lol!
    4. Get that damn green bar tracker thingy! Just looking at that thing gave me a sense of accountability and encouragement every time it increased. When I first started out I would look at that thing by the hour. I look at it every day or two now. It just makes me feel good to look at it. If you're dreading resetting the green bar back to 0 then you're not having the right mindset --> go back and re-read Step #2.
Anyways nofap is not an end all by any means. It basically just lifts the veil to expose your inner problems/challenges and provides you with tools (or less burden) for you to challenge them head on.

I hope this gives some encouragement to people going through the struggle and let people that THERE IS HOPE!!!

Hey man, congrats on achieving such great success! Is it possible you can list some benefits of nofap as that will be great motivation for a newbie. Also, how can you get that green tracker thing? Seems really cool but I haven't got a clue how to get it.

From what I've heard form guys on YT is that keep yourself away from that stuff. That show is basically like soft core porn IMO. Stay away for now because you never know that could be your trigger and no doubt the further you go into nofap the hornier you'll get and seeing a great pair of breast will most definitely arouse you and may lead to MO or even PMO. so stay clear.

don't say ''only 1 day'' feel happy about it. 1 day is better than no days bro. Keep at it, hit your goal of 90 days and smash it even further! Don't stop. I'm on day 20 and I felt kinda sad that I didn't start early last year.. But then I thought imagine I didn't even start this year or the next. So start where you are don't look back just look forward. Well done on the one day.

Congratulations. Saying no to PMO has its benefits, and there are plenty of them. It has been proved by several members of this forum. I hope your post inspires others to keep going and never give up. :)

    Hey man,

Sure, I would say first of all it's the benefit of time. When I would search for porn, I was really picky and had to find the perfect porn to watch. By the end 2 hours just rolled by! Also I generally feel happier and relaxed, I don't have those immediate endorphins to substitute for that anymore so I guess my brain compensated for itself.

But I would say the biggest thing is the feeling of freedom due to not being addicted anymore. I honestly thought that I wasn't addicted but I had the face the cold hard truth that I was. I'm actually not against masturbation or even watching porn, but like with food, alcohol, drugs once you become an addict then those things are not just a casual enjoyment it becomes your MASTER! The feeling of breaking the chains and becoming my own man is like seeing the world different for the first time.

I see you figured out the green bar, because I see it in your signature.

    I hope that helps!
