Forticlient is one of the neatest web filters out there. It may block hacking sites if you visit them. But you could always modify the blocked categories as you need and also block or allow custom sites. It doesn't block by keywords so it won't block any safe safe sites, that's guaranteed by 100%.

Agree! We should try to solve the root cause and that is the human need for connection. So porn can't be just eliminated it has to replaced by something else that gives you some excitement. Porn blockers will make it harder to watch porn and will help you replace it.
A lot of experienced guys recommend deleting all of your porn libraries. There is no reason to keep them except if you wanna relapse in the future.

hey! @xXsinnerXx I need to talk with you. I think forticlient is good for me. but I think it's also slowing my pc. Is there any solution. On the mobile, I just reset my phone to watch. I know it's very shameful. what should I do?

When installing forticlient, only select "Web filter", do not tick "antivirus".
Did you check Task manager and see how much resources it's using? I've just checked it on my PC and it uses zero% CPU and 170 megabytes of memory which is nothing....
Your PC isn't supposed to be slow with forticlient. People complain of web pages loading very slowly when they have another another antivirus installed, especially ESET antivirus. IF you're using windows 10 then Windows defender is enough, you don't need any other antivirus.
Haven't you locked Settings with Applock?? How do you get your contacts and photos back????

Updated forceDNS for windows. There was a problem that prevented it from changing the DNS. Now it works as it used to.

I'm currently working on a way to disable youtube restricted mode on iOS which will be useful when enforcing cleanbrowsing DNS on the router.

    Hey man,
I've updated the file, so you don't get that error. Are you still using pluckeye??

  15. How do I stop Forticlient blocking Youtube so heavily?

Bump on the YouTube being heavily filtered by Forticlient, even after adding the URL and wildcards to the exception list.

Is there any speed difference using Cleanbrowsing DNS vs the default DNS settings? Specifically for online gaming.

Thanks for putting this guide together. I've been working on getting everything set up (again) and I knew it was legit when you added the safemode and Windows reset blocks as well! I had been using Accoutable2U and K9 web protection but found ways around them both. I'm coming off an eight month bender and working on a 90 hard reset now.

If you're using the 6.02 version that I uploaded then youtube shouldn't be filtered. I said in the post that the newer versions of forticlient switch youtube to strict mode.

That would be a problem if 6.0.2 started to filter youtube. Which version are you using guys?

If you want to use the latest vesion of forticlient and disable youtube strict mode there is workaround for that. You would have to export forticlient settings then edit it to disable safe search then import it again.

    Glad you like it man.

I also have been using k9 but I had to forfeit my admin privileges because it was easy to remove it. After it has been discontinued we had to find a replacement and forticlient is a good one.

The default DNS settings is your ISP's DNS which probably sucks.

Anyway, all what a DNS does is that it links a domain name to it's corresponding IP (for example: google.com to 64.233.191.255) That's it. It doesn't affect your download/upload speed or latency (ping). However, some DNS servers are faster than the others in getting the domain's IP which is a few milliseconds difference. That's the only difference except that your ISP is probably collecting data about you when you use their DNS.

I downloaded the latest version for one of my computers. I'll try 6.0.2 on my second one and see how it goes. Another issue I'm running into is Google docs being blocked by something. I'm not sure which program is blocking it but I'll keep playing with settings and update if I figure out the issue.

When trying to open any of my Google docs, I get a pure white page and this for the URL: about:blank#blocked
