it's 11 pm of day 0 and i am writing my journal
i want to ask something to you guys that from last 7 days i was on semi dopamine detox as i was ignoring most of the pleasurable activities and and was only focusing on my studies but today i watched a video in which a person said that if we are struggling from porn addiction and we stop doing pmo then dopamine release in our body is minimised so we should replace the porn by similar activities that releases same or good amount of dopamine , so today i decided to start watching live streaming of pubg mobile for 1 hr in day ... i have a question that what i right dopamine detox is good or replacing porn habit is good , i have read both the theories and both were preety convincing ,,, my last streak was of day 7 and this time i want to exceed it to 14 days so guys please give your suggestion on my above question ... and tomorrow is day 1 and i hope for the best performace from me ,,

I studied up on this method in the past, and what I learned were some things that may help you:

    1. Do not choose a charity that you support or believe in. In the moments before PMOing, it is easy to rationalize that you will feel good giving your money to this cause, that your money is going to a good place, etc. It will turn out that you will be only gratifying yourself twice: Once with PMO, and once by feeling good by giving to a charity you feel is important.
    2. Instead, choose a cause that is OPPOSITE to your beliefs. Wouldn't that suck if you had to send your money to the 'enemy' side? Especially to a cause that you really hate? Far more effective!
    3. You could choose to truly waste your money. And by waste, I mean burn it, rip it up into tiny pieces and throw it in the garbage, etc. A true waste. Nobody benefits from it. Just gone. There are so many people in the world who need that money, and you just threw it away. You should hate that idea. Again, far more effective.
    Good luck!

  8. Day 1/90
    Total clean days - 21
    Total PMO - 6
    Total P - 1
    Total hours remaining - 2136

Finally day 1 again. I am happy again to get back on road. On last relapse I realised to not watch P even if you don't do MO. Thanks to you guys in this forum who told me the brutal truth and snapped me out of my wrong thinking. I always thought that doing P without MO is acceptable in nofap challenge and it's ok to watch porn for some time. I know now what I was doing wrong till now. I know that I have to avoid all three things that No P M O. So now I will reset my counter if I watched porn deliberately. And another thing I learnt that there is no need to binge after a relapse. But now I also learn another thing is there is no need to relapse if you watch porn. Which I regret yesterday I relapsed because I reset my counter and I was sad and had urges so I let it go through relapse which wrong. I shouldn't have done it I would have happy today. Now I need to stop doing relapse after watching porn and not to take a peak on porn.

  9. Hey Discovery ,

Thanks for the reply and added insight on that. If I didn't go with option number 1, then it'd have to be option 3. Yeah that would be very difficult haha. Nice insight.

Do not give your money to the charity, burn it if you relapse again.
Head Up & Keep Going man you can do this.

I'm in - I've tried so many times and not reached 90 days. Highest I've reached is 75 days.
Determination to make a change and leave this habit for once.
    0/90 - lets go!

    Hello Friends,

    Checking in on day 35/90!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Did my 2 mile jog this morning, meal prepped, met with my parents for dinner, and listened to a podcast and audiobook.

Currently listening to Seth Godin’s book, The Icarus Deception. It’s a title I came across a while back and never picked up until now.

On a side note, it feels like PMO, urges, and P-Subs are a thing of the past. Still moving forward with the challenge.

Hope all of you are growing and utilizing the energy/time/internal force gained in meaningful and productive ways.

Is anyone here part of any accountability groups other than this thread?

    To Your Success,
    Lamboskovich
