Need to stop wasting money on porn

    I was more or less ok until the quarantine this year. But now I am addicted to cam sites, I have spent approx 200 USD just the past two months. And it's not like I have a lot of money, today I just emptied the last 20 bucks off my bank account. What can I do? I feel so miserable. I know this has to stop right now.

    One of my triggers is having my laptop/cell phone around when I'm alone. I'm going to try switching to a flip phone for a while, and I'll try to use my laptop only exclusively for work. I shouldn't be here anyways, it's 4:23 a.m.

    If you can send some prayers for me, please do. I'll much appreciate them. Anything short should work, like just saying 'God please help him'. That's enough for me. I know I am very religious at the core, but I certainly have lost my way lately.

    Hi,

    Have you discussed your addiction with anyone? Might be an idea from someone within your religion, if possible?

    If you have not already try reading as much as possible about the harms of pornography to yourself, others and society at large. Yourbrainonporn is a great resource

    First of all, there is no trick or shortcut to quit PMO, JUST DONT TO IT. That's it. I know it's hard, but No Pain No Gain. Hardship is just a part of life to test your worth.
    And if your laptops and phone are your triggers, the do one thing. Before picking up any of those, ask yourself what you are using it for, and do exactly that only. If you want to play games, just play games. Same for pc. If you know you are gonna watch porn, then don't use your phone, because if you do, the urge will get even bigger and you won't be able to escape from that trap.

    I am in the same trap. I did spend a lot of money on camsites. I blocked the sites on router level but after some time I unblocked them when I was with a lot of urges. Then I changed the password of my accounts without seeing it. After that I was clean for some months. Last week I felt strong urges and I created a new account :(
    Now I spend a lot of money again and I don't know what do to.

    Thanks a lot for all the comments. It’s been two weeks and I failed again today.

    Therapy is a good option, I’m actually considering going to a psychologist because I feel sometimes I’m stable and can work very efficiently, and other days I’m super sad or get angry about anything. Perhaps I am bipolar or something like that, it would explain why I’m so impulsive and waste a lot of money on cam sites.

    So yeah, the first step is to stop paying, I have deleted my accounts a lot of times and I’m trying my best to keep them closed. And the second step might be speaking with a professional therapist, I think that’s the way I’m going to take.
