People here are discouraging me !!

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Ardis31, Aug 5, 2020.

  1. Yes and no!

    Why Yes?
Because when you put real effort into your recovery, the results always come.

    Why No?
Because what works for me, would not work for you. Everyone's life is different, their experiences are different and their bodies are different.

So there are no 100% guaranteed number of days that will magically improve your life. You need to work on overhauling your entire lifestyle. Which means that in accordance with doing nofap, you change your diet, you change your thoughts, you start going outside, you read new things, you learn new skills, you create better habits and you learn to be human once again.

It's a lot of work. There are no magic pills. PMO is only one part of the equation. You'll have to figure the rest out for yourself.

Always remember... Change is not easy, but it is worth it.

  2. It is important to know that NoFap will not solve ALL of your issues. It may solve some. There is no guarantee that your anxiety or other symptoms will go away. If you want real genuine health advice, see a doctor.

The symtoms you provided in this post sounds more like Covid-19 (I am not a strong believer in this at all I must say though as a disclaimer) then anything that has to do with Nofap or semen retention in general.

    My diet program:

    1. Breakfast at 8:00 am:
Milk mixed with little coffee + cakes or bread with jam.

Banana + peach or figs + yogurt.

    2. Lunch 01:30 pm: I get my lunch only in weekend and it's:

Lamb or chicken + vegetables (Potatoes, tomatoes, onions, green pepper, aubergine, pumpkin .. etc) + watermelon or yellow Mellon ... I also drink orange juice during meal.

This is my lunch on Friday and Saturday but in other days when I am at work I stay empty until 5:00 pm.

    5:00 pm:

Tea or coffee + cakes or bread with jam + Yogurt or figs or banana.

    Dinner: 9:00 pm

Eggs + cheese or vegetables with orange juice.

I don't drink alcohol .. I don't take drugs .. I don't drink too much caffeine .. I don't use fish oil .. These few months I used vitamin B complex and magnesium but not every day .. I took only two bottles of each of them separately.

    Thank you for your help.

PMO addiction can be very serious for some people. I dare to say it can even kill you.

Like everything, it depends on the person and the context. Some people smoke all their life and they get to live 100 years. Some die of lung cancer caused by smoking when they are still very young. That does not mean smoking is not bad.

I know for sure that PMO has ruined many years of my life and was close to kill me. I'm still suffering from PAWS after over a year of abstinence, but I am clearly making progress when I look back.

Frequent PMO, worsened by edging and escalation among others, can really disrupt the normal functioning of your brain, specifically one of the main systems, the dopaminergic system, and your whole nervous system, which will in turn affect your heart and other organs. It's a deadly domino effect.

But 135 days is not enough time. Depending on the severity of your addiction and the susceptibility of your systems it may take 2 or 3 years.

    Thanks for your time

I don't think that my addiction is severe because I was masturbating during 12 years only once or twice per week and I tried to quit masturbation about 20 times. 4 times I stopped it for 26 days and other times I stopped it between 15 to 22 days. Moreover, I was not watching porn everyday but maybe once per month and sometimes I was passing more than 4 months without watching any video.

Ive been masturbating since 13 years old in 2007 like in march or april

  11. Why did you start NoFap? It doesn't seem like porn and masturbation were affecting your life negatively. Am I wrong? Genuinely curious.

  12. do some meditation and exercise.
Drink more water for acne. Stay on the pedal. If you eat junk foods, replace it with fresh home foods. Nofap doesn't work until and unless you change your habits (it's my opinion BTW). Best of luck for your remaining journey.

I started nofap because I am going to get married and I want to have real sex. Also, masturbation affected my sexuality. My dick was 20 cm before some years and now it's 13 cm. I think that is due to chronic masturbation. Beside that, masturbation was making me isolated and exhausted when I do it and I was sleeping too much (about 10 - 12 hours) ... I want to change all that !!

    Hi Ardis,

Don't get discouraged. It's natural to be worried, especially when you see negativity here.
The reboot works. It has worked 3 times for me. Sexual functioning totally perfect from head to toe.
I'm having to do it again because I went though a bad breakup and relapsed and had bad binges all year. Probably 2-3 a month.
It has made my recovery much harder than before. I'm getting symptoms I didn't have to go through the other times. Headaches, muscle weakness like you.

They are normal. It just depends how wired your brain was to porn.

DON'T GIVE UP. It will get harder if you do. Your brain is getting better. And you're doing it for your wife - let her know your struggles. She can be your best ally in this.
