So I use xBlock for Safari on my iPad. It is a one-time payment of $30 and it does wonder. On my Mac, I use xGuard. xGuard is great, but it can be turned off unless you put a password on it. It uses AI to block any an all suggestive images, though if you are trying to do research on something that might have something suggestive sounding in the title (I took a Gender and Women’s Studies Course and it though all of the course content was suggestive) then it will block it. To get around that, I put, “Areyousureyouwanttolookatporn*myname*?1994”. That makes you question whether you are making the right decision. Alternatively, you can ask someone you trust, ideally not your partner as that can be an uncomfortable topic, to put in a password for you if you are not worried about doing research and then you can block any images that might come up. This only costs about $5 a month and is totally worth it. If you use Google Chrome, a free app is Smart Internet Porn Filter from vRate. It blocks most images, though there are ways around it, so I would suggest to not go looking for loop holes. For my Android I use Detoxify and Real Men Don’t Porn (RMDP) as a blocker and accountability app. They work for somethings, but they do not block google images so if you are crafty enough you can get around them. There is also a blacklist function, but that only works on WiFi for some reason. To be honest, if you have an android, I would recommend something else as it is way too easy to get around if you are not feeling honest. However, one of the best programs I use is Accountable2you. It is an accountability app which notifies an accountability partner whenever you search something suspect. You can also put in key words that you often search so that they get a notification. Additionally, they have full access to your search history, so you are not hiding anything. This costs some money too, but works on apple products, and androids, and has kept me honest. If you find a way to not notify your accountability partner, then I suggest that you tell them to check your search history everyday so that you can stay honest. My best recommendation is to find a good blocker (which means probably paying money), and check their reviews, and also find an accountability app along with an accountability partner who can keep you honest. Again, I suggest not choosing a romantic partner as that can make things uncomfortable/put a strain on your relationship. I chose my mom because there is nothing more humiliating that having your mom confront you over your porn use, so it keep me honest. But if you are not as open with your parents (or you have no relationship with them) then I would suggest asking someone who you would be embarrassed to see your porn use.
