Buying more stuff isn't a solution, it's a band-aid that creates more waste. Like I said in your other thread, I stopped carrying my smartphone 3 years ago and have no regrets. Once you break the chain of constant availability, you'll find you actually don't check your phone more than once or twice a day when you're home. Mileage may vary, but buying more shit is not something I would recommend, ever.

    Also:
If you are seriously driving/touching your phone, STOP DRIVING until you can become a responsible driver. You should not have a license if you don't understand the gravity of your choices.

Do it. Get rid of these addictive timewasting devices if you don't need them. Be busy with meaningful real life activities rather than pointless internet browsing and clicking buttons on apps on screens. You can do everything important, call and text, on a simple phone. And you can use a computer for the rest. Just create a positive porn-free environment around your computer. Once you PMO on it once, it becomes really hard to resist the temptation again. So make sure all of your devices are clean and support your recovery, rather than leading you towards temptation.

  5. I bought a Nokia 2720 flip phone as an experiment and put my smartphone in the drawer in case I needed it. Three months in and the idea of a smart phone doesn't interest me at all. Will probably throw it or give it away soon. This Nokia is a 2019 phone and can do whatsapp and brows the internet very slowly. Its good if you need to look something up, like train times. Give it a go, maybe don't sell your smartphone yet but keep it switched off and see what it is like without it. I use my computer for internet stuff.

  6. Why not just remove the social media and keep the smart phone?

Don't drive and use your phone! You can hurt/kill yourself and others. That shit is dumb.

I think you getting a dumb phone is an excellent idea. Could easily sell your smartphone and get one without hanging to pay out of pocket.

    Go for it.

  8. I've heard holding the phone close to your head (body too I think) can cause a brain tumour. I don't think dumb cell phones have a speaker and/or earplug feature. I think OP should just delete the useless apps and enjoy the convenience of a smart phone.

Quit it, if this is a habit and you want to get rid of it. Then you will pay more attention around you.

Nah. Dumbphones have headphone jacks and blue tooth.
