  2. Unfortunately my sugar consumption went up again. I think I went over the 40g line on all three days. So ...

    4 / 30 sugar free days
    4 / 5 cheat days used up

so I'm at 50%. It's ok but not good enough to accomplish this challenge (required success rate: > 85% !)
So I better make a new start. Day 1 tomorrow.
I hope to make many sugar-free days because when I start to compromise I end up overeating.

Also I should remind myself to eat enough. Sometimes dark chocolate is still a good idea. But also sweet fruits to replace sugary sweets.

I agree about dark chocolate and fruit. I think dark chocolate covered almonds, in particular, can be a good snack to use strategically. For example, if I make the mistake of shopping for groceries while hungry, chocolate covered almonds are a much better option than what I'd otherwise do, which is a bag of chips, and are quite satiating.

I've also read some meta-analyses on fruit, and all the outcomes it's associated with seem to be positive (less overweight, less diabetes, less heart disease, longer lifespan). It's true there's a lot of sugar in fruit, but it's inside the cell walls; all the evidence for negative effects of sugar that I've seen is evidence concerning refined/free sugar, i.e., sugar outside the walls of the cell.

    Anyway...

I've been doing okay lately. Getting in the habit of eating a serving of vegetables (pre-cut and washed broccoli florets, a big carrot, some cherry tomatoes) as my mid-morning snack has been helping me meet my vegetable goals.

  4. I'm joining you guys with the challenges I currently do. As it's completely dead in the thread I update my status in, I will simply move my challenge from the "90 days no sugar challenge" to this one. I will go on by my own simple rules, hope that's okay with you... :)

    45/120 - no alcohol
    45/60 - no crisps

When it comes to refined sugar, I don't really consume and I don't need a challenge for it as of now.
