I find that the 2 main harms of watching porn are: 1. you cannot perform well during actual sex because the sexual stimulation from your actual sex partner is not as strong as what you get from watching porn, and 2. it wastes your time and keep you from doing something that is meaningful. I am thinking, if I only watch porn for a short period, and if I do not masturbate to it so that my body is not conditioned to stimulation from porn, will watching porn become a harmless activity? I am asking because I find the female body to be beautiful, like a work of art (in traditional Western art female nudity is a big thing), and porn is the most convenient way for me to view it.

P is far worse than MO in my opinion. Not to mention it will probably just lead you back to MO.

This is just a delusion. We all know that this is not gonna work. It's just torturing yourself for no reason. Meaning you'll fall into M obviously.

Porn is not art. If you think it is then you have more of a problem than you think you do. You need to have a break from all sexual stimulation. No porn, no masturbation and no orgasm - no excuses Jim. There are other beautiful things to look at.

It sounds like you are trying to justify watching porn. I do think as others have said that it will lead to masturbation. In my case, I look at it the opposite. I did not join nofap to stop masturbating. I joined to stop porn. But I know that if I masturbate, it will lead me back to porn. At this point in my life, I don't think my brain sees one without the other, so I have chosen to do neither.

  8. Porn is not a harmless activity, maybe for some people. The people who make the content are intentional in making it as addictive as possible in order for you to spend money or spend lots of time on it. Good luck trying to watch the content without getting aroused in any type of way. Let me ask you this, how many casual crack smokers do you know? I don't know any and can't imagine there is too many casual porn users either who consumes the content without it being harmful to their mind. What you say doesn't make sense to me, it's almost like you're trying to justify watching porn and thinking it's ok. If the female body is like art, why don't you go to an art museum because there is plenty of nude sculpture there for you to admire.

I went 151 days without looking at porn, masturbating, and ejaculating. On day 152 i looked at porn although I didn't masturbate and ejaculate, according to the most recent blog post from this website, intentionally looking at porn is considered a slip up. The analogy I would make to what i did would be if you're a recovering alcoholic and then you take a sip of beer, although you don't get drunk, what was done is definitely considered a slip up and will lead to a bigger.

There are a lot more negative effects than the 2 you listed. There is a reason that at any time there are about 1000 people on this site looking for help or trying to give encouragement. Pornography, in my opinion, cannot be used recreationally. There may be a small number of exceptions. It is designed to ensnare you. It causes chemical changes in the body. It conditions you to objectify and dehumanize others. It makes real intimacy impossible. It brings guilt and shame, which justifies the lies and manipulations we use to hide our activities.

It is not art. Pornography is a form of slavery for many of its participants. I live in a western society and I disagree that nudity plays a major role in our art. The link between sex trafficking and the pornography industry has been proven. Many of the videos we watch have material that is not complicit. Many women are coming forward telling the truth that they we tricked, coerced, raped, forced, beaten, lied to, manipulated, etc. in the making of the films they were involved in.

Your reasoning above are excuses designed to justify the use of something that you feel is harmful. If you didn't think it was harmful you probably wouldn't be here.

Exactly, just a trick that porn is playing on your brain. I use to think cam girl porn wasn't as bad as traditional porn websites. Stupid I know, but thankfully I've finally realized its pure filth!

Definitely not. I tried it, and it led to a very confusing and exhausting time. Porn then masturbating, or just watching Porn, will not let you have a reboot/recovery.

I personally don't think any guy would develop porn induced erectile dysfunction if they binged watched porn for years but never masturbated to it. I personally don't think any guy would develop porn induced erectile dysfunction from this.

It's years of chronically binging on porn and artificial sexual stimulation while chronically edging and masturbating to it that causes guys to develop porn induced erectile dysfunction.

I don't know how much harm porn on it's own would cause if you never masturbated to it. But I doubt much guys would be able to watch it without eventually ending up masturbating to it.

Your brain will try to throw any reason to look at this. This is pretty much saying that it would be a good idea for an alcoholic to take a stroll down the liquor aisle at a store, and stop to sniff the whiskey. You will not be able to recover from an addiction if you allow yourself to be in the same environment that caused you to get hooked in the first place. Is it any wonder that rehab facilities are often designed to get you out of old habits? No. You need to repurpose your life with the sole goal of getting free and nothing else. I am trying to climb back on that horse, and am just playing through what I want from life. Porn sure as fuck isn't in it.

Just think about it: you're watching two people having sex and drawing pleasure out of it (which, by the way, is mostly just acting - which is even more ridiculous). Yes, sex is a great thing, but so is, say, eating. Do you passionately watch people eat? No, and if you did, people would probably consider you mental. The only reason the addiction to pornography is not widely considered as a mental condition these days is probably because it's so widespread, which is all the more worrying.

Don't do it. remove PMO from life. It leads to addiction and addiction itself is a very serious problem, it doenst matter how harmful the drug is. Addiction leaves you empty like a dead body
